Hanley's too much of a distraction IMO.

 

Plus, he hasn't hit well enough the past two years to warrant any good prospects.

Oh. I wasn't indicating the Sox are looking at him. That said, if the Marlins are going to sell low on Hanley, Kenny would be a fool not to listen.

He'd be owed about $37-38 million still through 2014.

I know it originated when the Sox were interested in Griffey Jr., but was it during the 2005 season?

I saw one of the national writers mention how perfect that would be for BAL or OAK. Both of those teams can get those kind of players to play for them, and trading for them is the only way it could happen.

I have no clue why the Orioles are paying Markakis $15 million. That's just insane.

 

But he can't fit on the A's payroll without a new stadium. Angelos, sure, if he wants to go that direction of adding payroll.
