Morning talk of the day... What happens in this series? Will the Sox put away the Tigers? Will the Tigers awaken from their slump to end up tying the Sox? Something in the middle?

I'd love to see a sweep, but I think the Sox take 2 of 3. Tonight and tomorrow the Sox win. Tigers salvage a win on Sunday.

I'm leaving for the weekend and probably be able to watch the games, I will tune in on MLB AT BAT 12.

How’s this for a stat that sums up the frustrating nature of the Tigers at the plate? They’ve scored eight or more runs in 16 games (13-3 in those games). They’ve scored zero or one run in 16 games. (Not surprisingly, they’re 0-16 when that happens.)

I hate to go Hawk on you, but it's going to be a battle of bullpens this weekend. I don't think there will be a sweep either way (please win tonight, please win tonight), but the team that pitches the best out of the pen will win two.

What cocky about that? The Sox have been in first place for 100 days this season. Detroit has yet to make that run everyone has predicted, it's just the truth and this point and now it's time for the Sox to take care of business.

Reinforcements come tomorrow when rosters expand.

If we lose tonight I guarantee you the Tigers sweep the series. If we win, there's a good chance we take 2 of 3.

My guess is we get swept and look bad doing it. That's how this season is going. A confusing season. Peavy the competitor is going tonight ... we have a 3 game lead ... you'd think this is set up perfectly for the bulldog Jake to put us up by four games and have us play loose the final two games of the series. It makes so much sense So it probably won't happen.
