I didn't realize how good Sanchez has been for the Tigers his last 5 starts. This A's offense picked a crappy time to revert back to early season form.

The bad at the major league level Chris Carter is back again...although his overall numbers still look decent.

Tigers 8/20 with RISP this series.

Ouch! Laird has really been playing well, after being a horrible hitter last year. It's like he has switched roles with Avila this year.

Meanwhile, A's are 4/18.

2-0 DET. Tigers are just almost impossible to beat at home. This is setting up perfectly for the Angels to make one final run to catch the A's from behind.

2-0 Tigers...they're playing small ball very well this series.

Omar Infante-the gift that keeps on giving.

2-1 Tigers after 2 1/2 innings due to Infante botching another double play. A's still can't get that big hit with RISP.

Did he get spiked again?

Did he get spiked again?

No, the runner was nowhere near him this time.

Heh well hopefully the A's can win this game.

You guys don't wanna hear it but just take the L tonight and move on to the rest of the season. For the Royals, every game against the Sox is their playoff game. They feast on beating us and for the Sox, they sleepwalk in front of 12,000 KC fans. After tonight, it's time to hunker down or whatever Hawk's saying is.

Tie game!

Solo homer for Oakland ties the game at 2.

So glad the Tigers end the season on the road... Have a feeling we're gonna be bigger fans of KC than greg is come the final series...

Is that even humanly possible?

Tough vote for AL Manager of the Year.

One amazing stat is that Baltimore's negative in runs scored/runs against but 20 games over .500.

That's extremely hard to pull off.

He did have a huge hit last night though to give them an early 2-0 lead with Verlander on the bump.

That was basically game, scoring 3 runs in that inning.

Win a dam game against a soft tossing LH! :gosox1:

Pitching to Cabrera here instead of walking him and facing Fielder with one out.

Guess it wouldn't have made any difference...single on a hanging breaking ball to LF. Increasing his BA lead over Trout by the day.

Cabrera .395 ba with RISP since AUG 1.

Thanks for nothing, Josh Reddick.

Had Fielder down 0-2 and still managed to place a double in the RCF gap.

Need to prevent a 4th run from scoring here, might be too much for the OAK offense to overcome.

Strange coincidence, Todd Helton backed up Peyton Manning at Tennessee, Eli Manning's backup at Ole Miss was Seth Smith.

9 hits & 3 walks in 5 IP, but only 3 runs? Good work by Oakland pitching to limit the damage.

More sloppy play by Tigers' defense.

A's with a chance to take the lead with 1 out, runner on 3rd.

More amazing baseball-throwing by Tigers fielders.
