Guess this means Ozzie is staying around.

Even with a payroll half the size on average, the A's always seem to be competitive and sometimes suprise. Other than 2005, the Sox really don't have much to be proud of.

The rules allow it, but MLB pretty much shuns it as it takes away attention from the WS/playoffs. They'd rather teams make trades afterwards so they can spread the publicity/excitement over the more slow times, rather in the middle of the biggest events.

October 22, 201213 yr The A's are subject to the disadvantage of playing in a real division. The White Sox are kind of lucky in that regard. Plus their payroll has been like half ours up until very recently and !shock! they put together a hell of a season.
