If you watched that DBacks team this past season you would know how silly everything you just said sounds and realize I am right. I know the numbers sound crazy, but ask anyone who watched the Dbacks last year and they will tell you hitting .050 higher with an extra 10 hrs and 30 rbis was definitely possible.

He was hitting .298 July 26th before the slide started. 90 games in.

He had only 18 RBIs after July 25th, with 72 RBIs in the first 90 games.

He had only 8 HRs after July 26th, with 22 HRs in the first 90 games.

90 games is a pretty good sample size, so he was on pace to hit around .300 sustaining the first 90 games.

On pace to hit 128 RBIs sustaining that pace for 160 games.

On pace to hit 39 HRs sustaining that pace for 160 games.

With better protection that a slumping sophomore strike out king in Goldy, a streaky catcher for 10 games or whatever, and a super streaky hill for up to 10 games, or just keeping the pace he was at, he hits .300/39/128...

You're being pretty ridiculous to try and make your point because there's literally nothing to back up your argument.

Please Rick Hahn, get off your lazy ass and do something already. You're embarrassing us. Or at least me.

And this is just absurd.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that too.

Yeah, Angelos loves him because he is Greek.

A previous poster mentioned Adam LaRoche...IF the Sox could find a taker for PK (prospects), I'd be all over LaRoche. He'd improve the Sox' defense tremendously, and is a solid bat.

It's a pretty safe bet that the Sox won't trade Konerko to bring in Adam LaRoche.

You're absolutely right. PK is a fan favorite, and the Sox aren't gonna spend the money it would take to lock up LaRoche. The Sox do have to start looking for PK's replacement soon. He is 37, yes?

Laroche is no spring chicken, he is 34. Replacing PK with a slightly younger, less powerful hitter isnt exactly getting younger and better

Lamar has been on a roll ever since he joined.

LaRoche is a gold glove 1b...PK never was!

How much power did PK display from August through the end of last season?

Wow, a 2 month span in a period where it was a known fact that PKs wrist was bothering him due to a bone chip.

You really proved my point wrong.

Well, this has been a bit of a chronic problem for him...so injury or not, I do think it is a concern moving forward.

So letting a 35 year old catcher walk is the Sox being cheap, but replacing a 37 year old 1B with a 34 year old 1B on a longer term deal is prudent? Ok.

Maybe, last year was the first year where it actually affected his power, and he finally got the bone chip surgically removed after the season. I think the only thing to be concerned about Konerko going forward is age. And replacing him with a 34 YO 1B isnt exactly fixing a problem.

Man, looking at Laroche's numbers, last year was really a power abberation. He hasnt had a year like that since he was 27

He's really not that much better defensively than Konerko either.

It's really unfortunate that the Sox weren't able to bring in Jeter to replace Alexei.

I don't think the White Sox are in the market for any more 1B types with Dunn/Konerko hanging around.

I'm fairly sure there will be a significant move made in the next few weeks, whether we like the move is another story, but I think Hahn may just prove to be a bit more patient in finding what he considers his best trading partner, and with the payroll pretty stretched as it is, it's probably causing him to think outside the box as well.

At very least, I fully expect at least one starting pitcher to be dealt. I know most feel it would be Gavin, but I still wouldn't be shocked if one of the young lefties is moved in a bigger deal. The best bang for your buck is going to come from trading either Santiago or Quitana, and it makes your rotation a lot less lefthanded than if you deal Floyd.

Letting a 35 year old catcher walk WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ANYONE AS GOOD is being cheap and stupid.

To steal the caplocking... ANDY LAROUCHE ISN'T AS GOOD AS PAUL KONERKO.

Maybe, maybe not! I only suggested trading PK IF the Sox could get good prospects for him. I like PK, but he can't play forever.

Neither can AJ.

You don't know this.

We'll do this: if the Sox acquire a 1B prospect who destroys the ball in the minors, comes up for a cup of coffee and doesn't perform well, and the Sox don't bring back Konerko after this season, are you going to say that the Sox should bring back Konerko because "they don't have anybody good?"

I really hate how truly lazy it is to suggest trading people for "Good prospects!". Come on, if you can't do the work to tell me a team that could take the player on you're trying to trade, and what they'd be willing to give up...just stop. It's not an idea if you don't have an idea.
