COuld be going for the series

if the offense could average more than 2 runs a game.

They have all packed it in.

So he has the double, but managed to slide past the base. Great work.

Is this the worst Sox team at fundamentals of your lifetime?

I like Wise aggressiveness there. He was safe if not for sliding off the bag.

It has been a while since I have seen a stretch like this. The defense and baseball IQ is way worse than the offense, IMO.

De Aza leading off is going to have to be addressed very shortly because it is not working at all.

There are no other options. Gillaspie doesn't profile as a leadoff hitter.

Sox saving all the offense for Harvey.

lol how can you like it? Sliding was the easiest part of that play. It isn't hard. Wise has cost us big time in this game.

I disagree that it's worse than the offense, as this team getting a lot of hits and home runs would give more room for error with the defense, etc. When you score only 3 runs a game, it makes everything else so important.

What does DeAza profile as?

Either does De Aza it is a big hole.

I like Crain -- hope he doesn't get stuck wearing this one

Sad thing is, I remember Konerko last year saying in all his years playing in the majors this was the most oriented fundamental ST he's been apart of. Looks like that was a one and done year.

The problem is that it has had a large part of killing the pitching.

De Aza has a .744 OPS. I'll wait for things to even out. HR rate will fall, K rate will fall, BA will go up

So is everything.

And last years group was about as good as I can remember. I swear it was into this part of the season before we blew a cutoff man.

K rate will stay high all year.

That's what's been driving me crazy about this year. Last year's team won games by not being stupid, even when they weren't hitting well. This year's team would be winning games if they were playing the same way they were last year with the same players.

Yeah DeAza just has a bad approach at the plate. If he fixes that, he'll be fine.

I like his AGGRESSIVENESS....not the results obviously.

The guy beat Francouer to the bag. You really like the chances of the Sox getting two more hits that inning or 1?

Haha never a smart idea running on Perez behind the plate, so the play was in front of Wise & he felt he could beat him to the bag & get in scoring position, which he did.

Just BARELY slid off the bag.

Yep, couldn't agree more. It was almost like they were trying so hard for the new guy in town to impress him and soaking in all the changes they made with how the game would play. This year, I don't know what is happening.

I really hope Hahn isn't gonna be one of those GM's who is a "one year too late" type.
