June 23, 201312 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20130623 Erik Johnson vs Wandy Rodriguez
June 23, 201312 yr Mark Gonzales was talking about them maybe bringing up Johnson for Friday's doubleheader since they get the extra roster spot. Doesn't seem like a move they need to make with off days on Monday, Thursday, and the following Monday. They don't need to pitch anyone on short rest, so a bullpen arm would make more sense.

I want some excitement! Bring the guy up for a spot start.
June 23, 201312 yr 1st inning- Walk Ground out Strike Out Walk Fly Out 25 pitches, 13 balls and 12 strikes
June 23, 201312 yr He's got to be battling some nerves in this start. Those walks are very uncharacteristic of him this year. Those strikeouts are promising though.
June 23, 201312 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Morel at .283. Not having a bad season. Got off to a terrible start too IIRC so been quite good for a while

June 23, 201312 yr Author not a bad debut. dealing with nerves, travel, new environment. He's our most ready prospect -- gives us another starting option for next season. With Sale, Santiago, Quintana, Axelrod, Danks and Johnson, we can deal Peavy (if he gets healthy) and try to get a piece to help for the future. You're on the clock, Mr. Hahn. June 23, 201312 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Jake Sanchez having a nice start in GF after only 2 innings. 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K. 23-year-old Indy signing. Probably should move up from rookie ball.

You might want to think about crossing Axelrod off that list soon.
June 23, 201312 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:05 PM) You might want to think about crossing Axelrod off that list soon. That's just not going to happen.
June 23, 201312 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) That's just not going to happen. If he keeps pitching like this another 2 or 3 starts, they're going to pull him from the rotation. If he's lucky, they'll wait until Peavy comes back. It's not like the Royals are an offensive powerhouse. You keep forgetting, this is the same organization that basically gave up on Lucas Harrell, and Harrell has more talent/ability than Axelrod, at least in the eyes of the scouts. Maybe not his heart, but heart and moxie only can get you so far. Edited June 23, 201312 yr by caulfield12
June 23, 201312 yr QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) Phegley with another HR. He threw 2 runners out too
