When it was all said & done nobody really had a bigger fan base in a Sox uni than Crede really.

Agreed. He was easily the most popular non star player in the 2000s.

I am stunned at how Rowand has seemingly disappeared

1 Chris Sale mittslam per every baserunner allowed.

They have now paid for their sins.

Except he didn't do the right thing.

No, it's really not. I'm a licensed high school and college umpire, and that's the rule. Period.

If the ball gets stuck under the wall & I look right at the ump & put my arms up & the ump is staring RIGHT AT ME & has ZERO reaction of course I'm gonna start to look for the ball more frantically.

The ump could see perfectly that Tank had no idea where the ball was.

Rules or not, its a judgment call & he made a terrible one.

Axelrod is incredible

He knows he didn't have his best stuff.

I like the emotion & expect him to def bounce back in his next start.

I'm not worried one iota. That had to have been the sharpest looking 8 ER allowed performance I have ever seen. Softest 8 ER allowed ever.

Boy does Axe stink. Thank God Robin didn't put him in last night during the late parade of relievers through extra innings or I'd have witnessed a loss. There's no way in hell he's on the big league roster next year. He'll be back in the Independent League. He is so bad it is laughable.

Try to learn something here, instead of playing a game of "kill the ump" when you don't know the rules.

The umpire doesn't make a ruling or kill the play until he gets right up to the ball and makes a call if it's playable/lodged or not. Umpires do not react at the time the player throws up his arms.

If this was at the outfield fence, the ball is still live, umpire runs all the way out. Baserunners can keep moving, and then be put back if it was considered dead.

Tank's course of action, if he thought it was lodged, would be to throw hands up, walk away, let umpire come out and make the call. You can throw your arms up all you want - if you go digging in there after that, it remains a live ball and will never be ruled dead, even if it's completely stuck and you can't retrieve it. He panicked because there wasn't a call, saw the baserunner moving, so went down and tried to get it. He didn't know the rule. You don't pin that on the umpire.

Anybody who thinks the Sox are close to contending needs to review film of this game. Rangers' roster is so much better than Sox roster.

Then why do you continue to root for them to win games this season?

Yup I def agree.

Texas is just on an absolute roll & the couple mistakes Sale made got deposited into the seats.....& under the padding.

It happens & ya move on.

I guarantee if you ask Sale how he felt he would say he wants the ball tomorrow.

Just the kind of competitor he is & we are in good shape with him as our Ace going forward.

Wait, they let Dunn bat and not Avi?

Of course he panicked.

You said he should let the umpire come out?

Did you see the replay?

The Ump WAS NOT MOVING....In perfect position but just staring at Tank....Kinsler is on the move not stopping so of course Tank is gonna go after the ball again.

JUDGEMENT CALL LIKE HAWK SAID....

& a TERRIBLE one.

The baseball rulebook means NOTHING to me with all the mistakes I see over the course of a season.

That makes me happy. He was so overrated and obviously juiced up. I still hear about his stellar defense, yet he cost the Sox a game in that Sept 05 series vs Cleveland by misreading an easy fly out in the 9th, and that wasn't the first time.

You're such a joke, it's unreal. I'm convinced you're just an 05 bandwagon jumper who knows nothing about baseball.

Far be it from me to question a licensed high school and college umpire, but the Rangers announced said a few times that the umpire should have called it immediately, and if it's not in "the stadium's rulebook" or what is considered out of play, then they need to amend the stadium rules because they said as soon as Viciedo put his arms up it should have been called dead.

They are just announcers, not a licensed high school and college umpires, so take it for what it's worth.

He also got a horrible jump in the 9th inning of game 4 of WS I believe

Rowand's one of those guys that I liked when he played on the team, but grew to dislike because of his bulls*** legend. He was a bad outfielder and, yes, obviously roided.

He didnt think the ball was lodged. It was unseeable to him like it disappeared. He looked and didnt see the ball because where it went under the padding and where it ended up were two different things. Now maybe the ump could see the ball moving under there from his angle and Tank couldnt see it from his. Tank can't make a play on the ball he can't see. For an umpire you should be more observant. Instead of flaunting your authority and saying people should learn the rules.

Didn't get to hear their point of view but when Stone Pony agrees with Hawk the way he did, I'm pretty sure it was a terrible call.

OT - but just hearing that Trout is TOP 10 in 19!!! Offensive Categories is absolutely amazing.

This guy has a chance to do so many special things in his career.

Whenever I hear the Harper, Machado, or Trout debate I just kind of laugh.

Trout IMO has so much more potential.

Trout

Machado

Harper

Is how I would rank them.
