I think he will if the right deal comes along. I don't think he will be moved for a rios type package

Here is a good writeup about what the Sox could do from Fangraphs:

I don't really share their enthusiasm wrt to Beckham, but they make a compelling case that somebody might overpay for him out of desperation. The AL contenders aren't exactly over flowing with competent 2B.

It depends. I was against getting rid of him before the season as I think he has had a number of factors working against his success since his rookie season. We saw then that he could be a capable MLB player and I believe that we need to be patient and see where things go with him. If he can maintain this level of play through the summer, he will be moved if the Sox can receive appropriate value for him, but he will more than earn the ~$5.5M arb number he will receive next off-season if the Sox hold on to him. The Sox can always look to move him then as well. If he falls on his face after the break the Sox can just non-tender him.

Look at the last five years and all the plate appearances Beckham has had ... 430, 498, 557, 582, 408. Has a guy ever been that "average" to poor and become a stud in baseball after 5 years of ordinary-ness at best?

Just wondering. My guess is Beckham is who he is. A run of the mill second baseman who will play as long as Mark Grudzalanek did with a lot of one-year minimum wage contracts. He's just another guy, folks.

Might as well wait to form our final opinions on Gordon till the end of the season. Right now he looks like a more competent hitter than Semien
