2008 Blackout Game

CSN- next Monday 7-10

Great game, kind of sad we have to watch reruns of previous success. Sox need to get back to postseason ASAP.

The atmosphere at that game was incredible. I miss playoff baseball on the South Side

I still got my ticket and parking stub. And I captured pictures of Thome as he connected on his monster HR. I happen to be sitting in our usual skybox seats that night. Great game.

Wish I still had a DVD burner.

If anyone DOES have a DVD burner, or the capability to DVR it and upload it, I'd reward you handsomely since I live on the east coast and have no way of making a copy myself.

I remember trying to record it via CD burner but forgot to change the recording speed and it stopped after around 2 hours without me noticing.

Still get goosebumps when I think about this game. That place was electric.

All I remember was hating Nick Blackburn and having no idea why they could never hit him. Thome absolutely destroyed that ball.

Well, I remember a lot more, but I still hated Nick Blackburn.

You can buy this on iTunes as well.

I got tickets through a work connection and sat in the front row right next to the tarp on the 3rd base line. This is one of the most fun games I have ever been too. I even got sprayed with champagne by Uribe and Dye at different points after the game.

It has only happened what, 3 times in the last 15 years? It's not like it was that common haha (at least in more recent years)

This is the only game I ever attended solo. Had a blast.

I bought one ticket in LF. I met a friend and his wife and sat with them before the game in section 139 (roughly) with the intention of moving once the people that had those seats showed up. Nobody showed up, and I had a fantastic view for that play at the plate and Thome's bomb.

Best atmosphere for a game ever- before and during the game.

Being in the skybox in 08, it was kind of hard to enjoy the post-game celebration, but I remember walking down the ramps after the ALDS Game 2 win over the Red Sox in '05 and that entire ramp down just insanely loud and shaking with everyone chanting "LETS GO WHITE SOX!". It was very surreal.

This thread needs more Brian Anderson love.

I was in the port-a-jon having a smoke when Griffey made his play. Also Anderson made that catch look much harder than it really was.

The game the day before was a better game sadly nobody was there to see it.

I had trouble enjoying the celebration for different reasons. My view was great but Nick Swisher, who celebrated more than anyone else, clouded it. The way he was celebrating you would have never guessed that he batted .219 and and got replaced by DeWayne Wise down the stretch.

You mean this cool guy?

I did actually take a couple nicely timed pictures. Wish I had a better camera than my point-and-shoot though.

The bottom picture the person in the front row, where you see white on the black sleeve, is me. That was Juan Uribe spraying the crowd with champagne

I don't see the white on black sleeve, but I included that picture because I saw someone post about getting sprayed with champagne. I think that's Wise though.

Did you want him to sulk and be down after his team just clinched the division because he had a poor year? Now that'd be selfish.

I think he meant that Swisher took lead on the celebration and was the ring leader, when he deserved very little credit and wasn't a part of that previous year of futility.

Most memorable game I have ever attended. What a night! I'll be telling my grand kids about that one.
