Pick him up!!!

Designate Shuck. I love what he brings to the clubhouse.

Plus, he's the only one that made Conor smile!

I said in another thread that I miss Moises Sierra and got the response "said no one ever". Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Moises makes the game fun. He knows he's a 4th outfielder, good defense, great arm, the bat could be there and he's a great clubhouse guy.

Hahn I hope you read this board and bring back Moises!

Him and Abreu were pretty close from all appearances. Maybe even a little too close from some of the vids I've seen ;)

I wouldn't call him a good defender. He gets terrible reads and routes on the ball. He makes up for it with an 80 arm.

His defense is viciedo/de Aza esque.

Want to back that up with something tangible ?

He is going to be a limited sample size guy no matter what the stats say. Just watching him out there, he looked like a little leaguer fighting the ball and routes.

Guess I saw it differently than you. I thought he was above average in RF. But I know you don't like him as a player and I do so we're both biased . Only the limited sample size stats back me at least for 2014.

Get him as the fourth outfielder. It makes too much sense.

The 2014 numbers had him as a statistically slightly above average RF in limited time (though slightly below average while he was with the Sox in RF). He was an incredibly terrible CF, and an incredibly great LF in extremely limited time. For his career, he is below average, statistically.

Problem is he not really a backup CF. Need a guy who can play all OF positions pretty well . Jordan Danks is still the best we have for that so far.

I felt like he had a few head-scratchers out there but also several fabulous plays. I'm honestly not sure how good of a defender he is. I'm not convinced he's bad, but I'm not convinced he's great either.

I'd offer him a minor league deal with invite to ST in a heartbeat. I liked him when he was on the Sox.

He is a guy who has the physical tools to cover up some of his other problems. +speed, and ++arm helps. The rest of the package, not so much.

I know I saw the same stats. Just saying it's pretty much a given he's much better defensively than Viciedo. Can you imagine Robin putting Tank in CF ? At least Robin had enough confidence in him to give him a few games in CF. He just doesn't have the speed to be a true backup in center.

He is a much better defender than Viciedo, but that isn't really saying much. At the same time he is no where near the league of a guy like Jordan Danks, for example.

If the asshole would just learn how to f***ing hit he'd be a shoe in.

He swing just makes me want to punch him in the face.

I would take Sierra back in a second but I see him as more of a fifth outfielder.

Would love to talk to the Pirates about Tabata. Good defense and hits left handed pitchers well.

Outrighted to Royals AAA team.

I am kind of surprised he didn't at least explore free agency.

He probably doesn't have enough service time to refuse an assignment.

i actually might have preferred Sierra to Danks next year. Were we already in the playoffs. But for the season long grind, 4th OF has to be glove first and Sierra is not well-rounded in that dept.

Sierras the better 4th OF. He hits better than Danks and the late inning relief is needed for the corners , not cf. Sierra is good defensively at the corners

If you want to give Eaton days off you still need someone who can hit a little and cover CF reasonably well. Danks' bat is just way lite.

Or at least I can say that there is now way we have both Danks and L Garcia in reserve roles.

No he is not.

No kidding

No kidding

Baseball America graded him out as the 5th best outfielder in AAA last year. Do with that as you will, their grading wasn't exactly foolproof like most defensive metrics. But he certainly passes the eye test on being that good too. Sierra on the other hand...

We figure to be winning and we have two average to poor defensive outfielders. Danks could be very valuable to this team. Glad it's looking like he has a roster spot.
