October 30, 201411 yr http://baseballhall.org/hall-of-fame/2015-...ommittee-ballot I hope Roland Hemond does a good job presenting Minoso's case. He clearly belongs in; it's a shame he's not already. Billy Pierce and Dick Allen also on the ballot.
October 30, 201411 yr I don't think there's really much of an argument for Minnie, at least in terms of his onfield performance. Dick Allen, though, has a real shot. He's a classic borderline guy -- but if Jim Rice is in, Dick Allen should be a no brainer.

I'll let caulfield introduce me. It will leave me about 30 seconds for my speech.

October 30, 201411 yr I love Minnie. He's a really nice guy, at least when I met him. Hoping he gets in.
November 28, 201411 yr Author 10 days until they vote. This man belongs in the Hall. https://twitter.com/SoxNerd/status/538699012443234304 Edited November 29, 201411 yr by flavum
November 28, 201411 yr I'd really like to see this happen. We keep people out because of their actions off of the field, I would love to see the opposite put a guy like Minnie into the Hall.

December 7, 201411 yr Author Golden Era Committee vote is tomorrow. The announcement is Monday. Here's hoping those voting get a good night sleep and do the right thing. If Minnie Minoso doesn't get it in, it would be a damn shame.
December 7, 201411 yr Brian Kenny, MLB Network"s resident saber geek, wants Minnie in. Apparently during his 10 year peak, Minnie averaged a 5 WAR. He also wants Dick Allen in. During his 10 year peak, his OPS+ was better than 11 contemporaries who are now HoFers, including Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.
December 8, 201411 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 6, 2014 -> 06:05 PM) Golden Era Committee vote is tomorrow. The announcement is Monday. Here's hoping those voting get a good night sleep and do the right thing. If Minnie Minoso doesn't get it in, it would be a damn shame. This needs to stay near the top of the front page at least for today since the vote is today. Not enough current Sox fans can relate to Minoso they way they should like Cubs fans can relate and cherish Ernie Banks. Yes I know Minnie was a notch below Banks in talent and certainly in exposure to the public eye. If you want to learn more about Minoso here's a link with a few short videos about him on it. There's no date on the page but it must be pretty recent because it says the the Minoso documentary will air on WTTW/Channel 11 in Chicago on Tuesday, December 11 from 10 to 11 pm. I think the date and time of the docomentary should be stickied Edit: I'd feel silly if that date was for 2013. Someone must know. OK I feel sillier now . Probably from 2012. As Roseanne Rosannadanna used to say . "OH Nevermind". Edited December 8, 201411 yr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside

December 8, 201411 yr QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 09:35 AM) You mean Thursday December 11 , Tuesday us the 9th OK then maybe thats not a current page because I got that straight from the article maybe the documentary was from 2012? Never mind about stickying it then. But the video's are still interesting as is this http://chicagosidesports.com/36-years-with-minnie-minoso/ and this from SSS with even more links at the bottom about Minoso http://www.southsidesox.com/2012/12/11/375...ing-remembering Edited December 8, 201411 yr by CaliSoxFanViaSWside
December 8, 201411 yr https://twitter.com/SoxShowdown/status/542033185887236096 Minnie Minoso was 4 votes shy of election. #WhiteSox
December 8, 201411 yr Author Nobody got in. Typical. Maury Wills got more votes than Minoso. Joke. There are way too many former players on that committee, with too many biased opinions. I'd like to see who voted for whom. Edited December 8, 201411 yr by flavum
