Was at 93-96 already....clearly, he's not going to go North with the major league team...but if he stays healthy, it's quite easy to imagine him making an impact, especially if guys like Petricka, Guerra and Putnam are struggling.

I'm disappointed that I didn't also read that he's in the best shape of his life.

They came sooooo close

From 2009 to 2011, Ynoa was limited to three games started by a strained right elbow that led to reconstructive elbow surgery. He returned to the field in 2012 and started in 12 of 14 appearances and made 21 starts the following year (75 2/3 innings) before he suffered a shoulder strain in August 2013.

Ynoa appeared in 31 games last season as well, throwing 45 2/3 innings at Single-A Stockton.

But Ynoa has looked healthy this spring.

Does anyone ever look bad in spring training on the practice field? Just take the encouraging things about Jesse Crain. You would think he has at least a minor shot of being on the opening day roster, but I actually read from some insider non fluff piece, the Sox are "hoping" to get him in a spring training game as some point, so really, if Will Ferrell can play spring training games, Jesse Crain isn't close.

Ynoa may be a decent pick up. But until he starts showing how great he looks in games that count, I take all the good reports with a grain of salt. His ERA was over 5.00 in high A last year.

The arm isn't the question for Ynoa, it is keeping his arm attached to his body that is the problem.

comparing last yr to this yr and the strong offseason the sox had, i welcome any and all players, as long it make sense, to compete. competition-competition. take the best north.

i am with you, i would love to see crain pitch in a game, to gage how far he is from being a viable asset, an extra arm for the pen.

I don't recall Felipe Paulino looking particularly good in ST last year.

 and it carried over to the regular season. look how that played out.

Is there some really pressing issue going on that should prevent us during spring training to focus on our lottery ticket players getting a puff piece?

I enjoyed article. I can say without a doubt this guy is going to win at least 12 cy youngs and probably run a successful line of work out videos.

my anger of really not addressing the extra utility position beside using a regurgitation project, i would really be ok, if MJ makes it and goes north. however, if he doesn't i will go on a 1 day rant.

fvvck me if beckham was the right choice.

hey, Dick Allen says stop being positive because Felipe Paulino and Will Ferrell. If this isnt definitive proof that nobody can succeed, i dont know what is.

BS.

And for the record, I wasn't the one who brought up Paulino.

But everyone in the White Sox camp is great. So we have that going for us.

Beckham's in a better place, so why don't you go after the people constantly slamming him?

I agree. There is no reason to be negative in spring training. It's supposed to be a fun time, and personally I love hearing about the improvements that players are making.

There are 162 games for us to complain about how bad someone is. Let spring hope be eternal.

If anyone actually read my post, I said I take these spring training fluff pieces with a grain of salt, knowing unless they are talking surgery needed, spring training pieces are always encouraging.

whatever would I do without you letting me know who needs to be slammed for positivity and negativity!

grain of salt taken

edit: wow I was late.

Yeah, I know spring training articles are garbage.

On the other hand, these are the last article slikely to be written on some of these prospects for a while (if ever if they don't pan out).

Nice to see some info.

I really don't know what your problem is but leave me alone. You don't comprehend what I wrote, then have some need to call me out, and not the first time.

Is this for real coming from you? For really real you of all people would say this?

For real. Go back to my original post and the post you used because you needed to slam me. It made no sense.. Apparently that is just a horrible negative attitude. It's spring training, the only guy you should be negative about, and do it every chance you can get on this site is Gordon Beckham. To say you will take a fluff piece with a grain of salt is the same as telling kids to stay off your lawn.
