Fair enough. Good catchers are hard to find. Having a guy that is proven 1 WAR catcher isn't the end of the world but I just feel Flowers has zero margin for error. If he doesn't have a BABIP of .300 or higher he's going to slash 190/230/340. Plus, aesthetically, like Rock said, the guy is hard to watch.

This is true and while he's always struck out a lot, I often wonder what happened to his patience. He always seemed like he'd be a guy with a worthwhile OBP coming up.

I think the better pitching attacks him realizing he has a tough time with fastballs. I don't think it is a lack of patience, I think they are comimg after him and he can't do much about it for the most part. I doubt when he was successful in the minors, the pitchers had the same plan.

He wasn't going to do so without an insane spring, plus an injury to someone else.

Damn that fastball from Montas is great.

Montas in throwing gas.

Any velocity reports? Watching it without sound, and all I know is that everyone is late on it.

Montas looks like the MLB meal per diem will kill him.

No they aren't saying anything.

Jesus ackley showing serious oppo power. Not a bad pitch from Montas.

And that if he's a starter, his games will take 4 hours

2 triples, 3 strikeouts

that fastball was legit. offspeed pitches have a lot of room for improvement, but that's probably because he was overthrowing out of the pen

LaRoche looking good. Anderson running for Jose scores easily.

hang whifff'em for Garcia. another bullet, this time right at Miller however.

Frankie getting hit a bit. Hopefully a learning experience.

Would like to see him drop 30 pounds - tough to see him long-term healthy, given where he is at 22y.o.

Trayce! Bomb to tie it.

Trayce with a tying blast.

Nice hustle double for Bonifacio.

Hell let Thompson stick around another couple weeks and see what happens. Let him battle for a spot. His defense is an asset now at MLB level.
