I was really hoping Soto would come in hitting and showing he was healthy to take over flowers. Flowers should be on a short leash.

Hell let Thompson stick around another couple weeks and see what happens. Let him battle for a spot. His defense is an asset now at MLB level.

Montas got 3 consecutive Ks, but also got hit around a bit. He threw almost exclusively fastballs as far as I could tell. He did get a K on a hard slider though.

Yes, but repeating mechanics is the big problem for Montas. It makes sense to me that they are working on keeping it simple for him.
