Phew! The sky isn't falling! I think this team is closer to the team we've seen over the last 3 games than the previous 4... At least I hope that's the truth.

You mean bad baserunning and mental lapses on the defensive side (Conor/Alexei)?

The margin of error is so thin in the AL Central this year that they can't afford to play like the 2001-2004 White Sox and just make enough errors for the more fundamentally-sound (Twins, now Royals) teams to beat them.

Encouraged by the bullpen performance and Quintana finally righting the ship his last couple of innings.

Pitching was great

Hitting should have gotten more runs v Indian bullpen game

Defense and base running will cost them in the long run. Eaton is a stupid base runner.

Liking what I'm seeing from Jennings so far. Looking like a great acquisition. Obviously, Duke and Robertson as well. As others in this thread have said, if Montas can come up this year and be a force in our bullpen, then we could have one of the best bullpens in the AL. But DR locking down inning number 9 will be key for everything else to fall in place and others to know their roles.

and to think Joe Nathan is getting paid roughly the same this year. Stud closers are worth 10+ million and Robertson is one of them no doubt. His stats and stuff reflect that. Unless he suddenly loses command, it's hard to see him not being at least average closer or better through his deal. It's not like he'd be awful if he lost a couple ticks on his fastball.

At some time before his contract ends, he is bound to lose a little off his fast ball, but he still could wind up with more than 1 K per inning with a low walk ratio.

Love watching Robertson pitch so far. He looks elite to me.

Guys, Tyler Flowers isn't as bad as some people think on here. He's no John E. Bench or Carlton Fisk but he's an average catcher who gets big hits now and then.

I think he's gonna hit 15-20 home runs a year and hit about .240 to .250. Now he's allegedly a better thrower than he's been so far this year, but he's not a complete hack like some portray him to be.

Robertson's breaking ball is nasty. The last couple he threw were totally unhittable, but the batter couldn't lay off.

Duke looked pretty good, too.

It's early, but Flowers doesn't look bad at all. Maybe having a back-up who could easily slip into a starting role helps, or maybe he's just getting better each year. He could be a .250ish hitter with 15-20 HRs, and that would be fine.

Amazingly, Carrasco has no fractures nor a concussion. Only a contusion.

That was weird. Looked like he got hit on the right side of his jaw, but he came up holding his left.
