Why is Flowers or Alexi up when loaded most times?

Alexei is 165th out of 169 candidates in terms of WAR according to fangraphs. Melky is next to last.

The defense is always really horrible whenever Rodon is pitching. Not fair.

His slider velocity's only 85 too (usually it's upper 80's)...fastball and slider just not as crisp as usual.

Nobody misplayed it. He was positioned in too far and couldn't make up the gap with speed.

Samardzija and Q as well. In general, it's just been a bad defensive team, especially in plays not being called an error but should be made. I didn't see the leadoff double though.

So if everything he's throwing seems slower odds are its the gun.
