I have noticed that a lot of people came to this board because they have been banned in other places, we are like America, we welcome all and will respect other's opinions as long as noone else is harmed

He's a good poster and he knows a ton about the Sox. He brings up a valid point and wanted to see other peoples thoughts.

The way I understood the poll, Killa was not saying "Should Juggernaut be banned", but he was rather saying "Should he be banned from making polls about the UD."

Rafiki, my puppy, if you wish to say something at least have the guts to say it to me, not hiding in the middle of a string you figure I wouldn't read. It's just a totally gutless thing to do on your part. I expected as much, but gutless nonetheless.

Juggernaut does make valid points, and he tries to fight the goood fight.

 

As an out-of-towner, I am lucky to make maybe four home games a year. Since the games are a rare treat, I'll shell out for the best seats available. So, the (unbelievably stupid) UD policy as far as the regular season goes has zero effect on me personally.

 

But, the fact remains that instituting the policy and depriving fans of amennities that were intended for all parkgoers was an easy and short-sighted decision. I sat in the UD for the All-Star events, but luckily I had access to all levels by virtue of a cousin who was pitching BP to corporate-types during the festivities. But I would have been supremely pissed (and people were) as an visitor who paid good money to attend that week only to be told that they are not worthy enough to have a look around the park.

 

Is that really the way to show off the improvements to the park, or to demonstrate just how "fan friendly" USCF really is?

 

As has been stated here before, while a lot of you simply say "pay the extra $4 and sit in 100-Level", sometimes those seats are not available.

 

The argument has been rightly made that folks who pay for UD shouldn't be allowed to sneak into 100-level seats. But no reasonable person here is suggesting this. It is merely being pointed out that the concourse and all its offerings were always intended to be enjoyed by all parkgoers. Sadly, it was just a whole lot easier to make this move rather than making the ushers actually do their job and keep people out of the seating sections they don't belong in.

 

So here it is. The ALDS tix go on sale to the public Friday, and supposidly only 8-9K tickets will be available for each game. If you get tickets there is a good chance you will be in the UD. There, you will be treated like a convict in your own home ballpark, unable to go to the HOF store or the cool hat store, or even allowed to get a chicken chimichanga. Because of the stupid acts of four stupid drunks, you will all happily give up park features that were built for you to enjoy.

 

All in all, it's a helluva way to market the team and the park on the national stage, possibly multiple times this year. These are the kinds of policies that should be implemented in a year we suck, so as not to draw attention to them. Te Sox don't suck, and neither do the greatest fans in baseball. But this policy does. It was not the only solution, merely the easy solution.
