Grandal, for one. Miguel Montero. Derek Norris. Trading with the Mets, Red Sox or Astros.

trading for is another way to address what is needed. but then again what will be the cost.

then how bout giving a reason and a replacement that will be cost effective.

That's just the damn problem. Everything has to cost controlled. You get what you pay for, the no heads up players that may show flashes of being good. If the Sox wanna act like small market team they need to develop talent, which they really don't or pay. They wanna do neither so you get these middle of the road players that the smart teams pass over. Lexis act has grown old. Time to move on

i understand what you are saying, however this does not fix the ss position for next yr if you want Lexis gone.

also, it really isn't the players fault for this results.... it is the owners.

I understand your point too. Im just tired of the bonehead baseball. Sox need to start from scratch. Make take some time and bad seasons.

ok, since we are on the same page, frustration, and money for salary will be a factor, the sox needs to make 2 trades from the pen, to get key players for next yr. 1 of'er or 1 infielder needs to get traded, if anyone would want them. again for major league ready players or prospects at least 2 yr away.

other than that, some will call these moves as The White Flag Trade #2.

b/c if the sox can't overcome this, this is what is needed.

question, when is it enuf and pull the trade??

My predictions:

Jeff Samardzija

John Danks

Tyler Flowers

Geovany Soto

Emilio Bonifacio

Carlos Sanchez

JB Shuck

Alexei Ramirez

Conor Gillaspie

Hector Noesi

One of the young bullpen arms could get moved but not sure who.

So far I'm correct on 5 of my 7 guesses.

Woo!!!

Surprised to see Sanchez on so many of the lists seeing as how is/was very young at the time of this thread .Suck as a rookie and I guess you are on your way out . Still could happen .

Also funny to see Flowers on so many of the lists . Guess the whole pitch framing hoopla about him hadn't taken hold yet. On one hand I've made my point about the usefullness ( or lack thereof) of pitch framing but I also didn't believe improving catching should be a priority because there are so few good ones and even harder to judge which young ones can stand the test of time . Nonetheless glad to see the Sox made changes at the position without a big investment.

Samardzija, Soto, Sanchez, Gillaspie, Noesi, Duke, Boni, Shuck and Guerra.

6/9 so far. I thought Sanchez would be back in Charlotte and I'm happy to say it appears I was wrong and hope he's the starting 2B. Duke I thought would be traded. Shuck- I don't remember why I put him on the list to be honest but I'm glad to have him on the bench and hope we keep him.

Sanchez was hitting .156 when this started, and most were probably thinking Micah would be back up after a while.

The roster was this on June 13 (bold are gone as of now):

Pitchers: Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, Rodon

Bullpen: Noesi, Ju. Guerra, Petricka, Putnam, Duke, Webb, Robertson

Starters: Eaton, Cabrera, Abreu, LaRoche, Garcia, Ramirez, Gillaspie, Flowers, Sanchez

Bench: Soto, Shuck, Beckham, Bonifacio

9 are gone, plus Albers who was on the DL at the time--also Jennings on the DL.

My 11 picks:

Alexei, Gillaspie, Flowers, Sanchez, Beckham, Bonifacio, Soto, Samardzija, Danks, Noesi, Ju. Guerra

I got all 9, and need Danks and Sanchez to go.
