Kiley McDaniel

leaving fangraphs to go work for the Braves :(

Another great mind going to the Braves. He's putting up his 16, 17, and 18 draft rankings tomorrow.

Good luck to him.

I'll miss his writing, but congrats to Kiley.

Loved Kiley's draft knowledge and his weekly chats

Congrats to him, must be a crazy feeling to cover something and then go into affect it.

Ugh, son of a b****. First Jason Parks, now Kiley McDaniel....now whose podcast am I going to listen to learn about prospects? His comprehensive list was so incredible, it's going to suck for Fangraphs to replace that kind of work he put in. I'm sure they won't.

To be fair, he had worked for teams in the past. I always got the impression that the writing was something to do until the next team came along. Not to say it wasn't high quality--it was really good and I enjoyed it a lot.

Kevin Goldstein too.

The good always die young.

Congrats to Kiley on joining a team with an extremely bright future. I wouldn't be shocked if he is a fast riser.

Blech we can't keep these guys long enough. Who's next to inherit the "best pub scout writer" crown?

Probably because of his name I always thought he was like 25.

How old is he? He definitely talks like someone in his 20s. I assumed he was like 28 or 29.

Related... a bunch of previous Baseball Prospectus guys, including one of the former co-founders (Joe Hamrahi) are starting a new prospect-focused baseball site called 2080Baseball.com. Also seems to include CJ Witt (former BP), Nick Faleris (former BP), Tucker Blair (former BP), Jeff Moore (former BP) and Mike Ferrin (XM Radio). And they threw some subtle shade at BP along the way.

Clever domain name, but it looks weird.

It's an "under construction" site with nothing on it but the logo. How does it "look weird?"

I was still referring to the domain name. I find domains with numbers in them, especially at the beginning, look fake or sketchy.
