Which current MLB players are future managers?

Featured Replies

Avila for sure.

No basis for this but Matt Albers.

From the first time I heard Avila speak while he was with the Tigers, I said, "Future manager".

Tyler Saladino, if he could stick around for the next 5-10 years. He has the right qualities - smart player, attention to details, works hard, has a passion for the game - if he sticks around long enough, I think he'd be a good candidate. The fact that he won't make tens of millions as a player gives him some incentive to stick around baseball as well.

I was lucky enough to hear a Hispanic radio show interview him at Soxfest while waiting in line (I was lucky enough they did it in English) and he gave a very good in depth interview. I was really impressed and I look forward to him on the team. I think he brings a lot to the locker room.

Not a sox, but if Granderson stays in the game would love to have him in the org as a manager.

Sounds like a potential Phil Rogers piece!

Pulitzer.

I always wondered if Craig "Brainiac" Breslow would consider managing.
