Makes the most sense since he's already on the 40-man. Coats has been hot. Really deserves a look over Avi IMO, even though he probably is nothing more than a 4th OF'er/AAAA type player.

Honestly I would bring up Sanchez and Smith at this point. This has been mentioned by a couple people; DH Rollins and start Saladino at SS for a couple weeks to see how that goes. Sanchez would be the utility infielder at that point.

I'm not opposed to that at all. Looking forward to Smith making his major league Debut, would love for the sox to catch another break out and its in the realm of possibility that Smith pulls a Carlos Ruiz. 27 year old rookie catchers making their debut and contributing isn't crazy.
April 24, 20169 yr If Avila is out for some time and Smith doesn't work out, I can't help but wonder if the White Sox will try to acquire AJ from the Braves.

We are talking about a slighty pulled hamstring. If Avila wasn't a catcher, they might not even be calling someone up to cover his roster spot.

April 24, 20169 yr Well they cut Brantley, even though there was no roster crunch, so I assume Smith can at least catch and throw it respectably. Avila shouldn't be out too long.
