Shields is the worst pitcher I have ever seen. Bring back Danks!

B-b-but if you take away his bad starts he has a 3.06 ERA

Why doesn't MLB have the 10 run rule again?

Yep, this is just a blip on the radar. He will get it back together...

Hahaha.....Hawk is now saying Avi is a good defensive outfielder

I stopped taking him seriously years ago. He's a worn out homer.

There should be an option to call it after 7. Save pen arms for the next day and not have to use position players, which is bad trend in baseball.

If you take away all of John Danks' bad starts the last couple of years, he easily wins the Cy Young and gets a contract extension from Hahn.

Root for the perfect game from Salazar if it means RV will finally be fired

“It feels better,” Ventura said of Shields. “We’ll know more when he goes out there, but it feels good. He and Coop have been out there working on some stuff, and they feel good about it. “And that’s good news for me, too.”

The whole Sox organization deserves the egg on it's face from JR on down.

Agree wholeheartedly. This is a clown show. They're as bad as teams tanking.

I don't think you can pitch any worse than Shields has.

Legitimately one of the worst stretches in recent history

Except for Sale, Q and Anderson, yeah, pretty much. Eaton gets a pass, too. Probably Tyler Saladino.

Wasn't Shields supposed to "eat" innings? He only ate 1.2 innings in this one. The game was over at 8-0 why not just leave him out there?

I am 45 never seen a guy traded to a team have this bad of starts over and over EVER!

The FO deserves to get fired. So does most of the team staff. Clean house.

When you would rather watch Paulino, Nestor Molina or Chris Marquez out there, you know things have taken a turn for the worse. Will throw in Zach Stewart for good measure.

So much for Shields bringing bulldog mentality. He's pitching like a f***ing poodle.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 05:57 PM)
Don Cooper has gotten more mileage out of fixing Matt Thornton than any coach in major league history has out of fixing one player.

Thornton is still pitching with the Padres. Perhaps we should have traded for him instead.

If they fired Kenny, Buddy, Rick, Haber, and the coaching staff, who would be there to hire the people to hire?

It's not a good situation right now. Train wreck.

Respect for veterans is more important than preserving the pen.

I'm sure Ventura's plan is to limit it to Purke, Ynoa and then give an inning of work to someone like Jennings, Albers or Duke.

Did Chris Marquez ever play with Dan Coat?

Fabian and Haber deserve to stay, fwiw.

Buddy Bell has to be gone, just for his idiotic "feel good" conference calls about the farm system...can't take them anymore.

What have they provided in a positive way?

Then don't listen to them. What do you think he is going to say that everyone sucks?

Well Melky is hurt. This season is ova
