    Machado signs with Padres 10/300

Seems to be a case where Reinsdorf set a cap on the contract size around 250M or whatever, and tried to make up for any discrepancies by signing his best friends. Unsurprisingly, money wins out every time. No matter how you look at it, its a massive fail, and to make matters worse, KW is talking down to fans like the Sox "gave it the old college try" and simply lost out. Might have pushed my fandom past a breaking point unfortunately.

    Baseball Prospectus Top 101 Prospects

The inability to develop high school position players is unfortunate. Seems like the Sox best option is to develop pitchers and trade them to an organization that develops position players.

Sox still have 3-4 roster spots for Trout family members

    2019 MLB draft thread

Josh Jung would be a terrific option for the future at 3B as well. Haven't found a hole in his game yet. The only gripe would be "only" 12 homers last year, but he's going to have another bigtime year in a pretty loaded Texas Tech lineup.

    CWS Games of Drafted Prospects

Disclaimer, I'm a Texas Tech grad and big fan. However, Jung is going to be a star. He can do it all on the field, and is a good kid/hard worker off the field. He has been making tough plays at 3B look routine for a while now. He will have another big year next year with his 1-2 of Holt/Klein coming back in front of him in the order. Would take him over India everytime.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 03:36 PM) OU isn't good. Tech and KU are the two best then WVU. Trae Young has to have 35 and 12 for OU to even have a chance in games.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 17, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) NFL continues to be a laughing joke. What in the world is a catch Refs are always the toughest player for the Pats. Almost impossible to beat them.

    Your Off Season Plan

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 03:23 PM) You are probably the only person on this entire site that has real issue with Rick Hahn. So you could say he was going after Hahn, solo?

    NCAA basketball thread 2017-18

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 09:27 AM) So they're admitting that UNC cheated but because they couldn't prove they intentionally cheated it's not a violation (when does that excuse EVER work in regards to NCAA infractions? Intent is rarely considered). They're also admitting that this has to do with academics, and they could give two s***s about academics. Most of the students in the classes were general students. But yes, UNC should be ashamed over that "academic" program overall. Even as a UNC fan, when you combine this with the FBI doing their job for them, it doesn't look good for the NCAA either. White Sox outright 5 to Charlotte

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 4, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) They’d have to keep him on the mlb roster all year. No one is doing that. Yep, that would be a nightmare K total.

Would be very disappointed to lose Micker. Had a solid season at age 20 in A. Felt like the light was finally coming on.
