You'd be surprised what you learn when living in the environment of the foreign language for a few months. They say that if you are trying to learn a language and living in a country where it's spoken it takes you 4-6 months if you had some background knowledge of the language. With so many players from all over the world it is necessary. That is one of the challenges of pulling a team together.
