More Money? Nope Better chance to win? nope Great city? yes, but big deal. How would you go about attracting the RJs and Beltrans on the market? The Sox do have a better chance to win than a lot of teams. Certainly our odds are better than Washington's. As for money, we're about middle of the pack. We'll never win a bidding war with the Yankees or Angels, but that doesn't mean we can't offer significant contracts (Belle's, for example). I'm not so sure we even went after Guzman. Back to the question, how would you sell the Sox? Why would I, as a top free agent let's say, want to play for the Sox instead of other teams? I am happy that Kenny didn't sign guzman or vizquel which shows me that he has some discipline which I have never seen from him before.
