  1. Past hour

  2. I forgot about that bum. I guess we'll be seeing him today.
  3. I hear you but to be fair as I've posted before, Getz never in his wildest dreams, expected the team to be in this position this season. He probably thought it was going to be another development season, maybe win 75 gams so nothing really was done this past off season. Now throw in the Sox unable to keep pitchers healthy anymore, JR refusing to pay the going rate to good pitchers and this is where you are at. That being said Getz may ultimately have to take the blame for not doing more at the deadline. Although we don't know what was being asked for pitchers or what JR allowed him to do regarding the payroll.
  4. Can they put you under during the game to save you the pain?
  5. After the last two long nights I'm fortunate that I'll be at my surgeons office this afternoon for the follow up to the rotator cuff surgery I had on August 6. I'll feel a lot better not following this one. Who knows, maybe they won't urinate away another lead after the 7th inning like the last two nights.
  6. Ranking former White Sox managers in order of competence is almost as fun as Bears' head coaches.
  7. Nestor Cortes signed with the Phillies. The Sox were in on him apparently, according to Francys Romero.
  8. Cubs did their homework. “Just keep throwing splitters”.
  9. That’ll happen when your main catcher who’s supposed to be an anchor in the lineup and in the field is hurt for the majority of the season, and when the backup you thought was going to be good isn’t even on the roster when the main guy is hurt after bringing in two other catchers.
  10. Isn’t that what Urquidy is for?
  11. Grif > Venable. Easily!
  12. He definitely needs another pitch against lefties. Regardless, we need somebody to eat innings against the Cubs today. Whether that he Sandlin or Thorpe.
  13. Sandlin, in his limited innings, has some of the most extreme splits I’ve ever seen. OPS of .444 vs righties, 1.005 vs lefties
  14. Fegan is great. With that said, a lot of excuses by Bannister.

  16. Also, to add a little physicality to the game while the team is batting, they can have a player standing anywhere in the infield and one standing anywhere in the outfield with the ability to physically interfere with a defender, trying to feel the ball.
  17. Baseball fucking sucks. Until we win a game. Then it's cool again.
  18. Fair enough, Kyyle.
  19. Another rule I'd like to see is after nine innings there would be no ghost runner, but position players must pitch.
  20. What do we have to lose letting Sandlin and Thorpe have a chance in the rotation? If they get lit up, who gives a s%*#.
  21. If I had to guess, our starting pitching since the all star break is averaging less than 5 innings per start (non opener games). This is where the Smiths, Schultz, McDougal and Sandlin having bad years is brutal on the depth.
  22. At the end of nine innings, do a rock, scissors, paper thing. Or maybe even a spelling bee.
  23. Get rid of the infield fly rule, which could make things very interesting.
  24. Another rule I'd like to see instead of a ghost runner on second, put three ghost runners on base and let's end the game a lot sooner.
