I think your assessment is correct. We aren’t going to be happy with the cost of a guy like Chapman. I’d rather trade some scrub prospects for some decent rental relievers. Trading away the future, even Gonzalez, isn’t worth the slim chance that this team goes deep in the postseason… which it won’t anyways because they don’t have the starters needed. I’m all for WE and Cali’s opinion here. This is the natural progression of a rebuilding team, and they have jump-started it earlier than expected. I don’t think they are ready yet, but they look to be getting there. I wouldn’t trade anyone that could help them in the near future to chase a postseason dream for this year. This team is still so young. The lineup looks good. The problem is that they still don’t have a good enough rotation, and I have zero hopes that Jerry will spend on one until Ishbia takes over. And you need to sign some FA starting pitching at some point to bolster a championship rotation.

Question: On your #2, do you think Gonzo plus, perhaps some lower level prospects be enough to get a decent reliever or even a rental high leverage guy like Aroldis Chapman from Boston ? I'm not sure I would make that trade, but the back end of the Sox bullpen looks like it may be falling apart. Grant Taylor seemed like the answer as our Closer, but ...I don't know now.

Sandelin had excellent control of his pitches in his first start. In his next start he was aiming and missing the corners and could not get ahead of hitters. As Plesac said ad nauseum, White Sox pitchers have to throw strike one and avoid getting into bad counts. Sandelin has got to do that. His breaking pitch was an effective a strikeout pitch when he got ahead in the count.

I do not watch soccer, golf, hockey, tennis, ping-pong, or politics, so I don't know much about any of those sports.

Youth participation rates. Safety of soccer vs. other sports...obviously concussion rates from headers to be considered. Cost/s of participation. Adult viewership. Youth viewership. Viewership demographics. Advertising/corporate sponsorship dollars.
