  2. I think your assessment is correct. We aren’t going to be happy with the cost of a guy like Chapman. I’d rather trade some scrub prospects for some decent rental relievers, but not a top guy like Chapman. Trading away the future, even Gonzalez, isn’t worth the slim chance that this team goes deep in the postseason… which it won’t anyways because they don’t have the starters needed. I agree with WE and Cali’s opinion here. This is the natural progression of a rebuilding team, and they have jump-started it earlier than expected. I don’t think they are ready yet, but they look to be getting there. I wouldn’t trade anyone that could help them in the near future to chase a postseason dream for this year. This team is still so young. The lineup looks good. The problem is that they still don’t have a good enough rotation, and I have zero hopes that Jerry will spend on one until Ishbia takes over. And you need to sign some FA starting pitching at some point to bolster a championship rotation.
  3. Question: On your #2, do you think Gonzo plus, perhaps some lower level prospects be enough to get a decent reliever or even a rental high leverage guy like Aroldis Chapman from Boston ? I'm not sure I would make that trade, but the back end of the Sox bullpen looks like it may be falling apart. Grant Taylor seemed like the answer as our Closer, but ...I don't know now.
  4. Sandelin had excellent control of his pitches in his first start. In his next start he was aiming and missing the corners and could not get ahead of hitters. As Plesac said ad nauseum, White Sox pitchers have to throw strike one and avoid getting into bad counts. Sandelin has got to do that. His breaking pitch was an effective a strikeout pitch when he got ahead in the count.
  5. I do not watch soccer, golf, hockey, tennis, ping-pong, or politics, so I don't know much about any of those sports.
  6. Nothing wrong with that thought at all. And there are even more variables. Will Mune even be here still after 2027 once Roch is ready? Maybe not. Maybe Vargas is playing 1B after next season? Even if you are a Getz hater, you can’t argue that he hasn’t acquired players with positional flexibility unlike Hahn who loved acquiring positionless turnstile DH’s.
  7. Once again — not in the SoxTalk forum? 🤣🤣🤣
  8. Any sort of bias ruins your company’s credibility, regardless of the topic. This isn’t that difficult to understand.
  9. Then where is the World Cup thread a full two two weeks into the tournament???
  10. Why would there be a right/left political agenda to a sports poll? That doesn't make any sense at all. "Left/woke" is on the side of forcing soccer/football on Americans? Really???...And have been ever since Pele was on the New York Cosmos in the late 70s?
  11. I am literally watching the World Cup Turkey / USA game right now and it has f***-ALL to do with this SoxTalk forum that you posted this thread in. Neither does CNN or the NY Times opinion on anything.
  12. Sorry to challenge your limited world view/s... Mods can go ahead and bury this in some far flung section of the site that nobody goes to anymore. We'll just pretend this whole World Cup thing doesn't exist as anything but a foreign touristic invasion of the country...with their strange/eccentric antics at baseball stadiums across the country.
  13. This isn’t that difficult — AP and Reuters. Stay away from CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, NY Times, etc. You seem to know the usual suspects so why are you acting surprised?
  14. So what objective source of news information exists in the world today? There isn't one, right? I suppose the NY Times is corrupting The Athletic... Everyone complained about the depth of recent results for the "negative/anti Sox" The Athletic's players' poll feedback recently. "Scientific polling" can be massaged based on how questions/options are posed. I suppose the foreign/outsidery football is a threat to America too. It's why Alexei Lalas still refuses to call it anything besides soccer.
  15. I wouldn’t waste the effort to turn on my VPN for CommieNN. You shared a link that not everyone could even view without a paid option. Your mistake, not mine. A Cubs/Mets game is far more interesting than this bullshit post. Even you know this.
  16. Wuhan boy, I tried to play the video at your link and it asked me to pay to watch it. I wouldn’t pay to watch any news you sourced whether it was provided by commie CNN or commie Chy-Nuh. I can get CNN for free via live streams but they would have to pay me to watch that crap. There’s a reason their profits are declining fast as f***. No one gives a f*** about CNN anymore but you.
  17. You don't get CNN lol? https://www.cnn.com/videos/title-2572883 I can click directly on this link with a VPN and get to the video and you can't in the US? Well there's always Cubs/Mets now in extra innings to capture your attention.
  18. His first link doesn’t even work, unless you subscribe. This is likely just another one of the Wuhan kid’s posts being placed in the wrong forum. I have never been a hater and even defended him numerous times, but you would think @caulfield12 would get it by now why he’s the site’s whipping boy. He fucking asks for it.
  19. CNN posed the question. Not me. Soccer and cricket are the two sports with the biggest global pull... You can start by comparing EPL La Liga Serie A Bundesliga and PSG team valuations. Youth participation rates. Safety of soccer vs. other sports...obviously concussion rates from headers to be considered. Cost/s of participation. Adult viewership. Youth viewership. Viewership demographics. Advertising/corporate sponsorship dollars.

  22. Written into the 26-year-old's contract extension is a clause that if spends over 120 days on the injured list with a left arm injury, would trigger a $15 million club option for 2032, essentially turning his six-year deal into a seven-year deal. Probably covers everything from shoulder/rotator cuff all the way through elbow/forearm.
  23. I just said to wait to see what Roch does in the Minors for Csakes.
  24. First Bill Maher, then Blago, and now this other @hole . I disagree.
