Contreras really looked good to me last Friday, hopefully he continues to throw that fastball and get ahead of the hitters, if he does he should be fine. On a side note I'm going all out to follow the game tomorrow. From 1 to 1:35 I'll be listening on the radio in class, after that I'll drive home for my lunch period to watch for a little bit, then I have to come back from 2:20 to 2:50 where I'll be following through gamecast and then after that I'll rush back home to catch the last 3-4 innings.

I'll probably catch the middle innings over my lunchbreak. ( You guys are 2 hours ahead of me ).

I want to ditch Gym or something. :(

man that would be huge to open the season against a teams ome people say can win AL Central

this a comcast game?

Yes. Channel 37 here. And, because I've taken off the rest of the week at work due to strept throat, I'll be watching it.

Fearless prediction: Konerko launches one again.

thanks, I forgot they list the tv station there. I won;t get to see a game until I come home on Friday night. Not complaining though, I get to see the whole Minnesota series

We should know after the first couple innings if Jose has it or not.

Wow, he pitched pretty good against these guys last year. That definitely gives me a little more confidence in him.

Agreed. You can always tell with Jose right away. Like I said earlier if he's throwing his fastball consitancy like he did in Milwaukee he's going to be just fine.

That's part of the reason Ozzie swapped him and El Duque in the rotation. Good move on Ozzie's part, too.

I like the idea of the Duke opening in the Baggie Dome with the Count going today alot better than the reverse.

Agree here. Great to see that we owned Lee last year and Jose dominated the Tribe. Let's hope the trend continues tomorrow.

This is the first time since 1999 that the Sox are going for 3-0 to start the season. The last time they tried for 3-0 to start the season in 1999, they lost to the Seattle Mariners after facing a young pitcher in his first season -- Freddy Garcia.

Thanks Nuke!

Heh, didn't wanna risk my sparkling 2-0 record when starting the Game thread :P

I certainly hope Contreras can keep up his past ways against Cleveland. An opening series sweep would be huge, against a pretty solid Cleveland squad.

Oh ye of little faith. :headshake

;)

Another thing we have going for us is that Contreras pitches really well at Comiskey.

Bruce Wolf was harping on yesterday's attendance this morning (I really hate that trollish looking jackass). I guess I will have to avoid his sports report tomorrow on 97.9 as with the weather I don't expect it to be any better.

I'm expecting a plethora of runs today....9-4 Sox...Sweep Baby! :gosox3:

I really see the Sox offense picking off where they left off in the 9th today. I see us putting a few on the board today, and dare I say, a quality start from Contreras. :D

:gosox3: :gosox2: :gosox3:

I've got Cliff Lee on my fantasy team and don't know if I should play him, you guys think the Sox offense will show up today?

Did you see his history against the Sox?
