I think that guy got promoted to the position he truly wanted.

Yeah, the plan was to stockpile higher ceiling arms. If you have 15 guys at 4 levels, all 15 won't be Cy Young winners.

Jake Burger
From today's MLBTR chat with Steve Adams: KC Pain 1:25 Jake Burger, how legit was that half with the Marlins? Im looking at prior seasons and this seasons small sample and injury and a tad worried Steve Adams 1:29 He's not going to keep up the .350-.360 average on balls in play that got him to his '23 Marlins production, and he's not going to continue to struggle like he has this year with the BABIP pendulum swinging in the other direction. Burger's career numbers are basically what he is to me... a low- to league-average batting average with poor OBP skills, good pop and poor defense. He's a fine guy to have around when his cost is low, but I don't think he's someone teams are going to want to pay through his arb years as his salary escalates. I'm typically a "yeah, trade your pitching prospects because they all break" guy, but my initial reaction to that trade was still "I wouldn't have given up Jake Eder here"

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
He was thoroughly scouted by every single team in 2014. Many front offices have turned over, but the same scouts and asst. GMs are still around.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Well, Fedde looks more solid with every start. I'd think he (maybe with a reliever) can bring back a couple guys who may not be a team's top prospects, but solid pieces.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Popeye wasn't reporting to Birmingham due to family issues. Those cleared right up when he was traded to Phil.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
There's a whole group who mocked anybody who thought that any of Fedde, Soroka or Flexen could work out and be traded. Any one of the three getting flipped for actual prospects would have been an incredible success of concept. We're looking at possibly two, now.

Shut Out Counter
Just for comparison, Baltimore has been shut out twice in the last 9.

5-11 game 6:10 CDT start. Maldonado Line gets the start. Puke.
Just wait until players start coming to Shriffen, asking him to give them nicknames. "Okay, South Side Predator comes to the plate!!"

White Sox Winner ! 4th straight !
They can literally trade Clevinger right this second for a baggie of poo, and I'd call that trade a W. However, I'll take the W the other 25 helped deliver.

Shut Out Counter
The Sox have been shut out once in the last 18 games. Weird that people on Twitter stopped keeping track of that. Also, Nicky Lopez got an RBI, so that kills another lazy meme. Maybe Twitter influencers will actually have to work to create "content".

Under what scenario would you consider offering Crochet and/or Kopech extensions?
Again, good talk, bro.

And Crochet appears to be fully healthy, now. The petulant need to get the last word is cute, too. If Crochet is as injury-prone as you believe, any prolonged use would result in an injury. He's even stated that the irregular use in the bullpen put more strain on his arm than starting. They might as well treat him like a regular pitcher coming off of TJS, and try to build up value.

Here's Crochet's injury history: 10/01/2020 - flexor strain 04/26/2021 - blister 04/29/2021 - back strain 03/21/2022 - UCL tear - TJS 06/20/2023 - Inflammation 07/21/2023 - Inflammation So, had a flexor strain during the 2020 playoffs. I don't remember any injury and couldn't find anything about an injury in the 2021 playoffs. He tore his UCL, had Tommy John, experienced inflammation in his return, and is now fully healthy. He's not leaving games early, grabbing his arm, complaining about soreness or whatnot. He seems to be a normal pitcher who returned from TJS, and is now healthy, not really different from any other pitcher. Again, I think y'all are picking on anything to rail against. Crochet moving to the rotation looks like a success. Now, all they need to do is build up his innings.

Clash of the Titans: Sox host Guardians 5/10, 6:40PM CDT
One of the best interviews when they tried to get Korey Lee to talk about his HR in the dugout. He said something like, "yeah, it's good to get that run back", and the interviewer pursued, he gave a look like, "there's nothing more to say about it". He finally made up that somebody was yelling for him to get his equipment on, and ended the interview. Good work.

I agree with you on this. Take the W.

I did Google search. Beyond a bad back in 2021, that's it. Maybe you know about some halitosis, or something?

Do they give out awards for teams signing players like TA and Abreu to contracts they'll never come close to matching the value on? I'm sure you guys would be total JR-ophiles if they were paying Tim Anderson $20 million a year for his BS for the next 7 years. As bad as AV is this year, he's Mickey Mantle compared to Jose Abreu's production this year.

Dude seemed to pitch a full reliever's role in 2021. Had TJS in 2022. Inflammation when returning from TJS in 2023. Not quite Eloy Jimenez. For somebody who loves typing that sentence so much, you don't seem to have much to expand on.

Before we get started, can somebody explain this "injury history" Crochet has weathered? Practically everybody in the game is had TJS. Y'all act like the dude's some unique porcelain doll, or something.

This feels like a Russian disinformation hack. Maybe a Cleveland/Minnesota/Detroit/KC disinformation hack. I think, right now, you can buy out 2 arbitration years, and 2 years of free agency. Maybe an option year. There's a lot of good will by giving the guy what he wants in starting. He's so young that he'll have an entire career after that contract if he stays any semblance of healthy.
