But you are going on instincts in that situation. When it’s first hit to you, you think you can get the double play. But as you take steps toward first, you realize the guy is going to score if you don’t throw it, so you gun it home with enough time to get the force.

I don’t think that’s a terrible play by Matt. If he steps on first, there is no chance to get the guy at home. So either way, best case scenario is only getting one out. Throwing home gets the lead guy and nobody scores. I understand that they are up by two runs, but it’s not an awful play if Omar knows it’s a force.

Anybody have a video of that play?

Thanks. Does that push Laz to 2B?

Flores with great start tonight. Should I be excited about him? Seems like he has back end of the rotation potential.

Do we know where Madrigal is expected to play? SS to start?

Is Greg his favorite uncle?

Adams and Parke both settled down nicely after the first inning. Also, has Sheets been heating up? I don’t play close enough attention to the overall numbers, but it seems like he has one or two hits every time I check the box score lately.

Definitely missed his spot, but that’s not terrible pitch selection.

Wow, who would have guessed Rodon would be the first to do that this year? One, because he’s missed most of the year so far. And two, because we all know Rodon is a big fan of high pitch counts and free passes.

Hamilton with a nice AAA debut. 1.1 scoreless with 3 K’s.

For sure. Same thing being said about Fulmer’s AAA start last night. For both guys, it would be nice to see it for an extended period of time.

Seby throws out a potential base stealer in the first inning.

How does that amaze you? Most people (not including you) are smart enough to realize that when the alternative is to be mediocre year after year with no chance of winning a championship, the rebuild is the only option that makes sense. I wish the White Sox had tried the mediocre thing for a while, so you could see that it doesn’t work. Oh wait, they did try that.

Isn’t Call moving up to Birmingham?

Who are your top five most intriguing players to follow?

I was just thinking the same thing. It was even one of those pitches where the catcher had to reach across his body, which are usually called balls even if they catch the corner.

Why do people keep responding to Greg’s posts? Either... A. He’s the most clueless baseball fan alive, in which case it’s like arguing with a brick wall. Pointless. or... B. This is just his schtick and he loves getting everyone all riled up. Also pointless to respond. There are no other possibilities. Perhaps we should just stop replying to his ridiculous posts, myself included.

Against a bunch of bad teams, though. Oh wait...nevermind.

Greg, you always play this victim role, where everybody is out to get you simply because you have a different opinion, but you’re truly clueless, and this post is a perfect example of that. The Mets just claimed Chris Beck, and yet you are wondering if any team would take Shields or Soria for free?

My buddy is having a BBQ on Labor Day this year, but I declined the invitation because it’s supposed to rain that day. Hopefully there’s something good on TV that I can catch.

Henzman perfect through 3 with three K’s on only 23 pitches thrown. Robert 0-2 with two strikeouts.

Blackman with another solid game in Kanny...3-5 with a double and HR. I’m starting to get a little intrigued by him.

Agreed. Didn’t we win a World Series with a leadoff hitter who hit zero home runs in the regular season?
