  1. I like it because they will have the option of Lynn or Lucas in game 5.
  2. I’ve shared my thoughts in other threads, but I agree with this decision.
  3. Exactly. Whoever pitches game 2 will be on normal rest for game 5, so we would still have the option of Lynn or Giolito for game 5. I look at it like this...there are three different scenarios for Lynn/Giolito to pitch in the first two games: series tied 0-0, we are up 1-0, or we are down 0-1. The most dire scenario is if we lose the first game, in which case I want Gio on the bump for that super important game 2. The other way to look at it is obviously that if Giolito just pitches game 1 and we win, we won't even face that game 2 scenario where we are down a game. But I would hate for a scenario to happen where Gio pitches well in game 1 and our offense goes cold, and we lose 2-1 or something like that. Then we are in trouble. Like I said, I'm fine with either decision, but I would personally go with Lynn in game 1.
  4. I usually agree with you on most things, but I would probably lean toward starting Lynn in game 1 if it were up to me. I don't feel strongly either way though, so I would be 100% behind Giolito getting the ball.
  5. Do we know who is pitching game 1 for us yet?
  6. No way they can wait until Wednesday to announce the times, can they?
  7. If you could sign up for a Sox/Jays ALCS right now, would you do it? Or would you let it play out?
  8. This is pretty funny now that we’ve seen the lineup.
  9. Bump. We are locked in to the 92-94 wins option, and we obviously won the division. Well done, SoxTalk.
  10. What time are the "day" games usually for the ALDS? Are we talking about a 1 PM start? Or more like a 3 or 4 PM start?
  11. No Eloy, Robert, or Grandal in that game. Goodwin was batting clean up, so that tells you everything you need to know. McCullers should be the one who is scared.
  12. Who are their top three starters for the playoffs?
  13. You just said the exact same thing that he said.
  14. If Engel can’t go in the playoffs, is there any scenario where Vaughn is in RF and Sheets is the DH?
  15. I don’t disagree with your analysis, but I still want Lucas pitching game 2. If we win game 1, he can bury Houston. And if we lose game 1, game 2 becomes extremely critical, and I’d love to have Lucas on the hill for that.
  16. Grade it with hindsight or strictly basing it off of the moves at the time they were made?
  17. Perhaps they are eliminated from winning the division?
  18. I don’t think that tells us much of anything, considering we weren’t even close to full strength in many of those games.
  19. Was there any doubt we’d have an early sac fly in the game tonight after this thread was created?
  20. Absolutely. And the worst part for Seby (and for us) was that the Sox didn't even win that game. But Seby absolutely contributed to the Field of Dreams win, and I will never forget that. Even bigger than the home run was the base on balls he worked before Timmy. Such a huge at bat.
  21. I just got an alert on my phone letting me know that Keuchel is 27 outs away from a perfect game.
  22. Shouldn't this title say that Anderson is one of the top ten most entertaining players? And shouldn't Hendriks and Lynn be recognized? The list is not in order. It's alphabetical.
  23. It’s going to be interesting to see what TLR wants to do in the playoffs when we are facing a righty. Option 1: Eloy in LF, Goodwin in RF, Vaughn at DH Option 2: Eloy in LF, Vaughn in RF, Sheets at DH Option 3: Eloy in LF, Engel in RF, Vaughn at DH The third option is clearly the move with a lefty on the mound, but will Tony want to put more emphasis on offense or defense when we’re facing a righty?
  24. Eh, I thought that was blown out of proportion. I didn’t have any issue with what he said.
