Old Farts Only: 50 + Year Sox Fans
Yes Norm won the batting title in 1961. He was quite happy hitting at Tiger Stadium. He later gave career thanks to a short RF porch, expansion pitching and corked bats. From what I heard during the 1990's the bats were then being made by a guy in Chicago. Norm put in about 15 years with the Tigs. Also never wore a helmet but used a hat with plastic liner.

2018 White Sox catch-all thread
Sox fans who worry about the Cub play into the second-class narrative that describes them. The team that has kept the Sox from steady success are the Sox.

Peters was on the Bosox.

9/16/18 12:05PM CST: Chicago White Sox @ Baltimore Orioles; Lucas Giolito vs. D. Hess
Tremendous credit to this org for taking a flyer on Palkman. Never got a shot with MN.

Rebuild= Epic Fail
I was just thinking that there would be less workout or practice pitching. The MLB equivalent of no contact drills. Clearly there is more knowledge needed on effective UCL preventive therapies. Save your stuff for white line pitching and develop your array of less stressful pitches.

The Dylan Covey Experiment
Dylan Covey works fine in the pen and can cover two innings. They will need to acquire a quality SP and several guys from Charlotte will also get a shot at starting. Stephens Adams and maybe even a Danish.

Seems pretty clear he has improved and will likely finish with 20 HR.

Congrats to the ALC two-timer Nativists. I know it may seem Erie.

Two in a row maybe three.

Chuck had gigs in Detroit and Toronto before making it back to Chicago.

That was a cool and casual DP deftly executed. I am ok with Swirskey who might stand out among a subpar field.

Who can forget that old Astroturf infield. Bill Melton was on that squad along with Tommy John.

Moncada leading MLB in OOZ strike 3s
I don"t think the umps always know where home plate is. You would think the most difficult part would be judging the height of low pitches but we see horizontal miscues quite often.

Anderson, Moncada, and the lesson of Joe Crede
My Joe Crede lesson is that flopping on your belly to make plays will ruin your back. Moncada could benefit from less scrutiny. It's not helping.

Taking a hiatus at the end of the baseball season
If the Sox are not jinxed they might as well be. The past ten years have been rough. I always say I just want to see some good baseball and we had some for two weeks. The Sox really need a manager with his own personality and identity but the Sox don't want that. It is not a healthy org and they are in denial. They might make .500 next year with a little luck.

The Stopgap plan for 2019-20
At minimum they need a vet SP and quality 3B. Abreu and Palka for sure in my lineup. Avi is on the buble.

Baseball in America on Saturday night 9-8 as Angels take on our Sox
He may be better than our whole lineup. Imagine him with GRF as home park.

Baseball in America on Saturday night 9-8 as Angels take on our Sox
Next year if there is no room for Davidson and goofy Yolmer is on the bench things will be better. Time to put bigfoot on ignore.

Baseball in America on Saturday night 9-8 as Angels take on our Sox
Trout could be Barry Bonds hitting in Chicago. We need more contact hitters duh.

Baseball in America on Saturday night 9-8 as Angels take on our Sox
Here's a little postseason success for you: Reggie Jackson's teams won five WS from 1972 to 1978. Yogi Berra had similar success.

Baseball in America on Saturday night 9-8 as Angels take on our Sox
Palka is disproving the strike out slugger mold when he goes to LF like that. That is what an MLB slugger would do.

Rebuild= Epic Fail
Footlong is a Cub fan who follows the Sox in a bemused fashion. His manners have become commonplace in our political discourse. Before Internet these people would leave graffiti in public stalls.
