NL Wild Card game Thread
Speaking of which I am going to enjoy watching the Brewers.

Jason Benetti
In their own way each of them seems to be just going through the motions. Stone is constantly sarcastic and Jason seems too bored to actually find better material. I am just at the age where lame humor really annoys me.

Wait Til Next Year
My take is that TA and Yo are capable of being contributing members to a winning squad but not ready to lead the way. Perhaps EJ will draw some of the glare away from them next year.

Wait Til Next Year
Not sure how you put a rosy gloss on setting two strikeout records. Moving YoMo to 3B does not appear to be imminent. Yet he is still a youngster.

2018 Post Mortem
Maybe if people stopped cheering for losses in the game threads there would be more optimism. I just read above that several of our recent top picks are imposters.

Is it hahn, hostetler, renteria, the coaches, or all of them??
They did talk of moving at times. It is understood if they moved another team would come in with perhaps more money and muscle. Some of you might not know that Charlie Finley wanted to swap teams back in the 70's. Others remember the Milwaukee White Sox.

It is fair to ask if next year will be better. Adding Elroy and a quality SP could help. No more Sanchez please.

Game 162
Our team offense is toxic. Almost beyond help.

Game 162
How does a team with a DH set the K record. Curious.

Game 162
No obstacles to malfeasance will stop our record-breaking Sox as the squawk crowd roars.

2018 White Sox catch-all thread
I would say Matt has been a disappointment. 3B open and not qualified to compete. Let's move on.

Sometimes you have to break up the old boys network. I assume some orgs use certain modern mgt metrics to analyze locate and promote office talent however the memo never reached 35th and Shields. I am sure Theo and Billy Beane would have some insights on this. I personally prefer more of a gunslinger mentality in the field manager dept (think AJ). They could have been grooming someone ideally and I suppose Omar is their guy. I see Ricky more as a teacher-coach kind of talent who somehow got on the manager career track. I do like having a bi-lingual guy which has become important.

Sox have "flexibility" to add "long term pieces"
So you just spent the NK defense budget for Machado to butcher your SS position through Trump's third term. Where does the rebuild go from there. Do you keep Abreu and Avi or invest in Fulmer and Covey while sewing a C on Castillo's jersey. Thanks for playing and I will hang up and listen on my Clutch Cargo fitbit.

That would not explain why the average per game attendance is about 30K. We hear Hawk raving when 25K show up for Family Sunday. We are among the bottom-feeders in that category. No reason to gloss it over. The visiting teams know what things are like here. I would rather not be force-fed a bunch of PR about going after the big fish.

I am a diehard Soxman but the metrics don't place this org in a favorable light. Machado doesn't want to play in front of 12000 fans for a team that gets little national press. I suppose you might find a guy who wants to lead a rebuild but who would that be. We will have to make do with Jon Heyman rumors that the White Sox are darkhorse favorites to sign Machado or Harper. I can see it now.

Meanwhile Ricky says you have to take advantage of home-field advantage. Girls should be careful not to give their hearts to young ballplayers. It gets messy.

Granted Moncada got a lot of bad calls but if you are challenging the K record you need to bring a lot of something else in your game. One thing we saw was Moncada and Anderson being worn out because of the roster situation. MLB doesn't care if teams end up with two bench players. The only other option is having pitchers who can hit and field or hitters and fielders who can pitch. If MLB added two roster spots some teams would add two pitchers. Not a good situation.
