  1. Damn KC is on some kind of heater. Thankfully the Sox don't play them for a few weeks and hopefully they have cooled off by then.
  2. They look like they have quit to me. The Guardians with that easy remaining schedule are the team that worries me most.
  3. Every win is a huge one right now but to lose this game just seems like it would of been a killer. This team just keeps stepping up when they absolutely have to.
  4. The two guys we thought would be the weakest links in this pitching staff, Fedde and Kay, have really pitched remarkably well considering.
  5. Castillo is not an answer. The starting pitching is scaring the crap out of me. His fastball is just batting practice.
  6. Every win of these last 36 games we will be saying the same thing.
  7. I admit I thought this series was going to be a disaster. When your a Sox fan for over 56 years you have that feeling of imminent disaster ingrained in you. But this team just keeps getting up off the canvas and gets back in the fight. This sweep was especially great because I live in MI and of course surrounded by Tiger fans. The great thing now is the Sox don't have to depend on anyone but themselves to win the Central. I'm thinking 86 wins will get you the title of AL Central Champions. The Sox need to finish 21-18 to reach that. The Guardians have the easiest remaining schedule followed by the Tigers and the Twins have the most difficult. Both the Twins and the Guardians have to go 26-11 to reach 86 wins, the Tigers need to go 26-12.
  8. This is a great thread. Lots of really good thoughts on the future of this team.
  9. It's very hard for us long time Sox fans to not expect the worst. But this team has shown amazing resiliency so far. Going to be a stressful and exciting last 40 games.
  10. You just know that Vasil pulls all kinds of tail. Definitely a dude you want to party with.
  11. Just when you think this team might be hitting the wall they break out the bats and do this. Now they are at least guaranteed to still be in 1st come Monday but hey lets not stop there.
  12. I won't be surprised if the stinking Tigers sweep this weekend and take 1st in the Central. It pains me to no end to admit they are the best team in a terrible Division. And the last wildcard spot probably won't be in play for anyone in the Central.
  13. Damn Meidroth is making me change my mind about him.
  14. That was vintage Castillo. When the guy is on he is impressive. Now add on some runs!
  15. I hate to say it but the Sox could be out of first come next Monday. You just can't lose this game. You have to beat the teams your supposed to especially this time of year and your in a race for the playoffs. And you just wasted a great start by your No1 pitcher. Now you absolutely have to win the next two.
  16. Tigers win again. Forget about Clev the Tigers are the team that is going to be a problem.
  17. Great outing by Burke. Now tack a couple more on and the BP hold em down.
  18. The Tigers are the team to worry bout. A lot of people wrote them off after losing Skubal and Mize but I think they are playing a lot looser without all the daily drama of will Skubal be dealt or no. Both of their rookies McGonigle and Clark have really energized them and their young starting pitchers Melton and Jobe along with Valdez have been really stepping up. Melton looks like a real problem. He is 7-1 with a 1.46 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. However their last 16 games have been against KC, Baltimore, the A's, Seattle and SF. They have 7 games left against the Sox and Clev and 6 with the Twins. I think it's going to take 86 wins to claim the Division.
  19. This is his first full year. He is still learning a lot. Look around the League, a lot of veterans are struggling to hit this year for whatever reason. He just needs to put the ball in play more because he makes hard contact when he does.
  20. Tigers bout to win again. Living here in MI I absolutely hate the Tigers but they are the team that is going to be the biggest challenge to winning this Division. They have had an insanely easy schedule the last 16 games. This is a huge week ahead as they play Clev for 3 and then the Sox for 3.
  21. Brooke better ask Venable if Noah was removed or it was a mistake.
