  1. All 3 Sox on the field for the AL to end the game. Beautiful.
  2. Vargas hits an absolute bomb off a Dodger. Had to be so sweet for him.
  3. The Sox are finally putting as much stock in the character and personality of a player as their talent level. They have a type and the current roster and this draft class show it. Players that absolutely hate losing more than they love winning. Players that are athletic and bust it every second they are on the field. How many times this year so far have you questioned the effort of a Sox player? This is a team that is easy to root for and fun to watch. I give a ton of credit to Venable for creating an atmosphere that is allowing these young players to thrive. I personally think he is going to end up as one of the best Managers in the game.
  4. That is a very interesting angle.
  5. I want Roch. The thing that sets him apart to me is that he was a fantastic QB in HS. He has the toughness and leadership skill that will fit perfectly on this team.
  6. Peters is only 26. Is this the player he can be long term?
  7. This just feels like Burke will give up a couple and the Sox will be lucky to get 1.
  8. I live in MI, and hate the Tigers, but they are going to win the Central. And as weak as the AL is this year, if they don't trade Skubal, they have as good a chance as any to make the WS.
  9. If the Sox can't light up Civale who is washed then I don't know what to say.
  10. Listen, up until the last 3 months has there been much of any argument about who is the top pick. Then after Roch and UCLA lost in the NCAA Tourney and he didn't have a very good showing at the plate during it everyone got on this Emerson kick. If they are now considered 1 and 1A give me the College kid over the High Schooler most every time.
  11. The Sox look dead in the water right now. They have to at least take 2 of 3 against the A's to end this first half and then hopefully the break will revitalize them. It is looking like you will only need to be a few games over .500 to get a WC spot so hopefully the Sox can get it back together and make a run at that.
  12. I hope they prove me wrong but I cant help but feel this is the start of the Sox coming back to earth. They just don't have the pitching to contend through 162 games. If were honest none of us had this team contending this year. With the right additions the window for winning starts next year.
  13. This is definitely not a make or break series with 77 games left to play but it is important to at the very least split the 4 games. Yea there are no make or break series with 77 games left to play. Still at the very least you want to split the series.
  14. If you take Emerson or Cholowsky where are they going to play. If its ss then where is Colson moving to. Can either of them play another position? What does the infield look like for the Sox heading in to the next 3-4 years. Seems like all their talent down on the farm are infielders. Remember there is also Carlson at ss. I think both Getz and Venable are big on having athletic versatile players on the roster and i agree with that philosophy. Im not going to be upset with any one of Emerson, Cholowsky, or Lackey.
  15. It is at the point with Romo you have to send him down. He is an automatic out.
  16. Sending Gonzo down will do him way more harm than anything. Facing minor league pitching again will do nothing but hurt his progression.
  17. What's up with C. Montgomery's back? Is this a potential serious issue? Back issues can be awful and life long.
  18. Costas has just become an old man who would rather talk about the past than live in the present. Sox fans finally have something to get excited about and cheer about, they don't want to hear about the 80's.
  19. Venable was good in his press conference. Was upset with himself for not taking the bunt off with Romo. I really like that he called himself out.
  20. I guess he was ready to be brought up.
  21. Ok no more pitching to Olsen the rest of the series. He is a HR waiting to happen in this ballpark.
  22. If Taylor shuts them down you have to win this in the bottom half. No extras and have Taylor pitch 2.
  23. The bunting woes aside this has been a pretty good game. The Sox are competing hard which is exactly what you want to see. You want players who hate losing more than they love winning. Every Championship team is that way.
  24. I really like the young players who are coming up. I hope like heck there is no lock out next year because i really believe that is when the window opens for this team. Learning to compete this year and next year the winning for real starts.
  25. Venable managing like his bp isn't going to give up any more runs. Ok.
