8/1 Games
This. Good to see Quero doing some good work behind the plate. He's super young for the level so his bat will come around. Glad to see Colson savaging already.

Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance
It would help to know what were the final Cease offers. BALs offer for Flaherty was very weak and STL took it. Not clear what they offered us for Cease. Harold suggested teams were prospect hoarding, again tough to say without knowing offers. Same for TA. I like the return on Burger trade alot. For trades completed they did well on returns.

Burger To Marlins
Good return....could be No.3 or better and LHP....he did have surgery in 2021. Definitely sold high. Now go get Grayson, Hjerstad and an IF from BAL.

Burger To Marlins
Return is pitching I assume?

2023 MiLB catch all
Nice. Hopefully CM can keep raking in AA. Gonzalez should move quickly. He should get to High A before the end of the season.

Who the heck could the Sox even sign in FA next year?
If Manaea opts out, they'll sign him on a buy low deal since they wanted him before. They can prolly get 2 3/4 SPs on 1-2 year deals at somewhere between 10-14m each per year. If they keep Cease, add those 2, Kopech at 4 and then Nastrini or Bush at 5 (or Toussaint), they may go with that.

Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves
Anyone have a link for the Score interview with Fegan?

Tyler Black might be a future White Sox in a few days.

Can Noah Schultz be an effective bullpen piece when the Sox are competing in 2024?
Well played, Ron

Crochet wants to be a SP
IMO, Schultz should be in High A already and I wouldn't be shocked if he was in AA by early next season.
-
Crochet wants to be a SP
He should get that chance. Maybe he could go to AAA for the rest of the year, work on a third pitch down there and try to stretch him out a bit as a starter down there. There's not alot of innings left but at least it's something.

When is Wolkow going to get some ACL ABs?

Will the Sox tear it down/rebuild for multiple years, or try to "compete" next year?
Only if there's real value in return. Now that he's turning it around, we can't give him away for free.

Guess there's still a game Guardians @ Sox 610 pm
Look at all those HRs Jake hits, Milwaukee!

2023 White Sox Salary / Transaction Tracker
Nightengale suggesting we are gonna spend some money in the offseason after unloading these salaries. Maybe the total payroll cut won't be too deep?
-
Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Yep and that dude will do whatever he's told to do in order to string out his gig as long as possible and keep cashing big checks.
-
Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Is that from before the season tho or do they update it? He's had a rough year but was great last year.
-
Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Because he still has an 80 grade silver tongue so his job is now basically glorified White House press secretary role for MLB club while Trader Kenny is working in the background.
-
Lynn and Kelly to LAD for Trayce Thompson, RHSP Nick Nastrini and RHRP Jordan Leasure
Good job getting another potential 4 with alot of upside and a BP piece to help backfill in 2024 the 3 that left. Maybe get another good BP piece for Yaz. Now send Burger to MIL for Tyler Black & Robert Gasser.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Nightengale said he is hearing SD will move Snell and Hader. It was smart to act fast before the rug got pulled out from under us.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
I have zero issue with that. We all agree they should have been fired long ago. But since JR is apparently unwilling to dump them in mid-season (or maybe ever) and install a legit FO, the only other alternative to letting either KW or RH move the expiring assets is to let the expiring assets simply expire and that's no alternative at all when there's a consensus Top 100 prospect on the table plus another solid piece.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
I agree that it would be more ideal if they had re-signed Giolito as opposed to haggling over 50k and blackballing him for being the union rep but that's JR for you and we know JR doesn't give big money to pitchers and this organization has a losers DNA and therefore will always be penny wise and pound foolish. Be that as it may, at this point there's universal agreement the rebuild failed and we needed to get some real value for these expiring assets and IMO we did that. If you're upset about the return here we had a poster openly advocating shipping Giolito AND Santos off to CIN for Jonathan fucking India.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
What would have been your contingency plan to get a good return for Gio once SD and NYM dumped their superior pitchers on the market and Moreno blew his wad on someone else? Where would we extract leverage from at that point in your view?
