Hopefully Lynn doesn't hurt his value.

Why don't we just leave Crochet in the minors for the rest of the year to try and build him up and work on a 3rd pitch too? I dont expect it to work as they already fucked up his career rushing him but maybe we could try? I think there was some article like a month ago kind of suggesting he could start next year possibly. Worst case it doesn't work and he's back in the BP again but this rotation could really use a legit lefty with good stuff as it will be awhile before Schultz is in the majors...like probably not till 25, IMO. If they can snag someone like Pepiot from LAD (part of Gio compensation) and like Roby from TEX (Lynn) and maybe you snag another close to MLB prospect if someone I desperate for some BP arms, I think we can make the rotation halfway decent. I still believe in Kopech, but maybe try a new pitching coach.

White Sox still one of just seven teams to see attendance falls

@Chicago White Sox @Quin Can we add another option when you like a post even above the purple trophy one? For posts that are especially savage like this one, how about a little pic of Macho Man Randy Savage? I mean we got TLR and Hawk how about a Savage option? -

Talk to me after the parade. -
Is there something imminent or are we going to have to wait until end of month?

I wonder how much he will get. He was ranked around 80ish in the rankings which is good for around 900k or so. So they need to come up with what an extra 600k or so to pay that? If the 2nd rounder wanted a million to sign, that's like a bit under what the slot would be and if they saved money in the 3rd and 6th as per @Chicago White Sox, and a bit with Gonzalez they should be able to make the math work. I'm glad they indulged Shirley's prep dreams a little bit there after Hahn prolly leaned on him in the first round. Edit: I read Taylor wanted 1M to sign...and his slot was 1.659. If Wolkow wanted a similar number they could get pretty much all the savings right there.

Left handers galore...yes!
-
Law's writeup compares him to Gallo and also has him 79th overall. Left Handed Savagery
-
Nice....now get him signed. Jimmy said Gonzalez at 15 got some savings so maybe they used some of it here.
-
Yep his reports are intriguing.

Yeah the BA review was actually fine. I dont have an issue with the pick at all....apart from the fact that we're trying to draft the whole Ole Miss team apparently.

10000% this. Rebuild failed. JR/limited partners unwilling to keep spending when they didn't get dick in terms of ROI, so the pursestrings are shut and we need to fill short term holes with high floor low ceiling players who can contribute in OK but unspectacular fashion relatively quickly. Focus is entirely on short term, self preservation and getting a .500-ish product that will keep people semi interested and watching despite a low payroll to keep ownership profiting. If RH can do that, he can keep cashing checks and string his gig out some more.

I think the thing is the FO convinced him to "spend money to make money" for the last few years of higher payroll on the belief that in this "championship window" they'd have a nice Ferrari which would produce not only high gate receipts but consistent playoff TV money for a few years for JR and his limited partners even if they didn't win a title or even an AL pennant. So he and the limited partners pushed their chips to the middle and opened up their wallets for a few years in terms of total payroll. Unfortunately, those promised returns never came and between stalled development, injuries etc. the Ferrari they believed they paid for (in reality they shouldnt have expected a Ferrari for a 185-210m payroll but at least it should have been a pretty good car) turned into a 1988 Toyota Tercel with 225k miles on it. Not content to pay the price of a decent steak dinner for just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the FO then compounded the problem by jerking off onto the windshield of the 1988 Toyota Tercel and proceeded to also drive it into Lake Michigan and here we are. The partnership isn't going to spend again now that they got burned. If we can be mediocre on a cheap payroll or if we are mediocre on a high payroll, the partnership obviously prefers the former and so that's the apparent plan going forward.

Yeah, I mean if he shifts to 2nd...if you have a LH 50-55 hit and power 2B with solid D that would be fine and playing at the rate his HR totals should be OK with his pull tendencies. Maybe high teens? IMO, between him and Montgomery one of them hopefully should stick at SS.

This guy actually seems like he has some real upside...hopefully he develops a third pitch and is OK post surgery.
-
First thing I thought of.
-
Boston again...lulz
-
Everything from here on out will be low ceiling, close to MLB ready. It's all about saving their asses on the cheap. Long term thinking is out the window.
-
Sigh.
-
They need to trade for Rushing ASAP. Send Giolito to LAD now.
-
Someone said at this point Hahn is hijacking the thing and the whole concept is short term thinking for self preservation with high floor low ceiling guys that they can move up to the big club fairly quickly on the cheap. Makes sense....RH can tell JR "Hey look yeah the rebuild failed but I am ok with only 130-140m payrolls the next few years and we can still be a semi competitive club to keep the stands relatively full in a s%*# division with a bunch of average MLB regular picks, so can I keep my job?"

They need pitching now.

Yep.
