  1. Alot to like about Schultz's effort even if it got away from him a little at the end Very encouraging
  2. 22 runs....we must have gone for 2 at some point.
  3. Winning this series is huge. Another great effort by Burke. Glad to see Vargas starting to hit again and Newcomb great job closing it out
  4. Antonacci saves the day
  5. Bonemer will be now forced to adjust.
  6. It would be tough to say no to that given that Antonacci and probably Cholowsky are both viable options at 2B for the long term. I guess it depends on how much control the SP has given that Meidroth looks like a 2.5 WAR guy himself and maybe a bit more and is also controlled for 5 more years.
  7. Carolina beats Vegas to win the Cup. Jordan Staal wins the Conn Smythe. Man, I feel old, I remember when he was a young 18 year old kid playing with Sid and Geno. Even after he was traded from Pittsburgh, I always kept rooting for him. Great kid...now a 37 year old grizzled veteran.
  8. Unfortunately, there has long been a difference between "should" and what Jerry actually does. I can easily see him milk the marketing/merchandising money for the season and then instruct Getz to trade him after the lockout for cheap controllable talent to fill needs instead of spending money.
  9. Impressive performance by Yamamoto regardless....you have to tip your cap.
  10. Peters bomb breaks up the no hitter. @tray 's boy saves the day
  11. They're not gonna cut him and eat all the 22m. The OF and DH spots are getting crowded and there's only so many ways you can keep rearranging the puzzle to make the 26 man thing work while still having an optimal roster without having to do something about Beni. At some point you have to address it. The best we can hope for us that he keeps hitting reasonably well and someone might agree to take on at least some of the money.
  12. Ohtani's back because the Dodgers are getting nervous after watching the Sox clean their clocks last night.
  13. Beni is up to 163 wrc+ in June and 105 wrc+ vs RHP overall. He makes what 15m a year. By the end of July, there will only be what Maybe 5m left for this year and 15 for next? If he keeps hitting well, maybe we can get someone to eat a third of the money if we threw in a prospect in the 15-20 range.
  14. I really don't want to move Gabe Davis given the volatility of the pitching. I also want to see what happens with Hagen Smith, Shane Smith and maybe Thorpe first. I also wouldn't move Gonzalez because we need to see whether they are willing to pay Murakami or whether he is even willing to discuss an extension. If we end up losing him we're gonna need another lefty mashing 1B. IMO if Schultz knee holds up and was the reason the performance dipped, I think his return alone will help alot if he looks more like he did in the first few starts.
  15. Acuna is starting to provide some value and he also serves as not just the backup SS but also the backup CF so he provides some useful flexibility.
  16. Yeah they were getting pretty crowded in the OF. Pretty soon this will be a problem in the IF too.
  17. When Colson, Murakami and Teel are all back it won't even be fair. This is incredible....they are hitting the jackpot on basically all the young position players somehow. Davis Martin just killing it....2 doubles for Braden (@ron883 be praised!!!) and I really liked those couple great defensive plays at the end by Meidroth. Your 1st place Chicago White Sox....you can put it on the booooooooard, yes!
  18. Wow....thats aggressive. Nishida down I'm assuming?
  19. It's still a little early for that. His xwoba in Charlotte is significantly worse than his actual woba so there seems to be some work to be done. I'm glad he is taking more walks now and has brought his K rate down. Needs to cut down on groundballs and get to more of the power. It shouldn't be too long but this might be a bit early.
  20. For being one of his "best" starts, like 90 pitches in a little over 4 IP is awful. Dude has a ways to go.
