  1. I dont see how Bleday is a replacement for Robert for CIN. He isn't really a real CF and he's LH so he isn't going to kill LHP as i read they really need a righty bat to kill LHP. Is Krall maybe making this move to get rid of one of their other OFers to make room for Robert? Or is he trying to create the illusion of leverage for the endgame of trade discussions? I don't see them as duplicative at all. It's also only 1.4m and even for a poor franchise that's not really a problem. I'm not saying Bleday isn't useful and isn't a good buy low candidate for them that they can flip, he is, but he doesn't really address what they need.
  2. I highly doubt this will happen since they are trying to flush the past and defensively he was awful last year which is one of the few areas he has been consistently good at previously. It would also leave Vargas without anywhere to play. Let's focus on continuing to develop our young players and building a good lockerroom.
  3. Fucking get it together. We almost lost to a 3rd string scrub. We are gonna lose HFA and the division to the Chargers next week if we don't fucking wake up. Fucking get it together. This is a garbage win. Get it the f*** together
  4. It shouldn't be super hard to get Meyers from HOU for like Cannon plus some 15-20 level prospect. That would be much better than trying to turn Baldwin into a CF. If we added him plus like another solid SP option, we could conceivably be close to a .500 team.
  5. If this guy is correct that the return would be larger than industry expectations, I wonder what that would look like in terms of offers from CIN, NYM and PIT?
  6. Agreed. And they are a good fit compensation wise with the Sox. I think if we can leverage the NYM interest a bit longer maybe we can pull whatever second piece Getz has his eye on. I do hope that the CF plan isn't just Baldwin or Pereira. I'd like to see them send Cannon to HOU for Meyers or make a big trade with Quero for a good young CF MLBer or prospect.
  7. He spent alot of time on Petty...seems to suggest like in the other report that there also need to be something else added from CIN. Ruled out Duno and Stewart.
  8. I expect Sosa to be on the move shortly since Murakami makes a bat only 1B type in Sosa moot.
  9. That would be solid....especially with at least one of Schultz or Smith joining the rotation at some point.
  10. Kepler is a perfectly fine bridge for Braden. His BA and WOBA last year were below his xBA and xWOBA so there may be some positive regression. For 1 yr and 9m or so, that would be solid.
  11. There's a big difference between "should" and what JR allows to happen as you know. From what you mentioned previously, I thought you said we were around 61m currently IIRC, so if you add 17m for Murakami and 4.5m for the reliever we just added, we're already around 82-83m, so as you can see we are already getting close to your 90m budget number without addressing SP at all or the BP further. If they move Robert for Petty and eat say 8m of the 20m, we have hit two birds with one stone by going down to around 70m and adding a cash cheap SP with still significant ammo to land another SP and maybe have room for the Houston CF salary if they trade Cannon for him.
  12. It seems likely that they still have a topline restrictive budget number that they have to stay under. If they could hypothetically trade Robert (even if they eat some money) for Petty and a lotto ticket or something, they could wash out most of the Murakami cost and add a SP who is basically for free money wise and theoretically they could still have some money left for a FA SP too.
  13. Yeah they need to largely offset that money.
  14. They can buy low on Petty in a trade with the Reds. He had a rough start but didn't we like him before? Bannister could work with him
  15. Sid passes Mario as the Penguins all time points leader. Congrats 87!
  16. Between Colson, Murakami and Braden there should be some serious savagery in this lineup. Meidroth/Antonacci platoon at leadoff, Teel 2nd to get guys on base and then a wave of savages after that.
  17. Even if we paired Robert with Quero we aren't getting that package.
  18. At least we are trying to somewhat compete which is good to see.
  19. Not if you trade for the Houston CF in another move. Maybe move Cannon and something else.
  20. They might buy low on Chase Petty since they liked him previously. He had a rough start to his career but Bannister can work with him. If they pay some of Robert's money they could get it done since CIN is cash poor.
  21. Awesome. 2 years is shorter risk for JR and helps the player prove his value for the market. I'm assuming we are out of the running for O'Hearn now?
  22. The defense holds up on the goalline with another Fitzgerald pick. (10) Miami (FL) 10 (7) Texas A&M 3 Final Go Hurricanes! I'm really proud they won in a hostile environment in College Station. Hit. Stick. Bust Dick! We FUCKIN!
