  1. Speaking of NYY prospects, Law did his writeup on The Athletic. He actually likes Arias (3) more than Jones (4) and feels Arias has best upside of anyone in system outside of Dominguez. Very good batspeed from left side, arm and speed and should stick at SS. He acknowledges Jones has mega power but pitch recognition needs alot of work and success rate of people built like him isnt high. Also likes Lombard (5). Expects above avg defense at SS and good power. Doesn't seem to be super high on Hampton (6) or Warren (9) based on writeups. Thinks Lalane (11) is a long term play with mid rotation potential or even better, 6'7 LHP touches 97 with easy delivery. As to @Chicago White Sox boy Ben Rice (20), thinks he can be platoon 1B/DH and maybe backup catcher, but isnt really a catcher. Very strong and left handed but has uphill swing that could be exploited by better pitching. For more see https://theathletic.com/5261866/2024/02/12/yankees-2024-top-prospects-keith-law/
  2. I dont know why I even waste my time watching this s%*#.
  3. NFL Marketing wins the day as usual. WWE bullshit
  4. Come on SF....keep your boot on their throat and when you get Mahomes in a pile punch him in the dick.
  5. Congrats to Randy Gradishar! Long overdue for HOF. Go 49ers today!
  6. That's a little light imo....and becomes very light if it's Lombard and Warren as the headliners.
  7. Lalane as 3rd piece, Vivas 4th piece. So then 2 pieces can make an immediate impact....Hampton and Vivas and 2 for the future (Arias, Lalane). I still really want a true near MLB LHS like Jones, but IMO we would still take that deal.
  8. That sucks...although it wouldn't affect Trader Jerry in Seattle.
  9. Take out Selvidge and replace with Lalane. I'd still be pissed about the lack of Jones. I'm not convinced NYY wont move him, esp if they strike out on Montgomery and Snell.
  10. Now that there's an agreement I wonder what the holdup is between Montgomery and TEX (besides Boras)?
  11. https://theathletic.com/5258158/2024/02/09/mlb-farm-system-rankings-2024/ Didn't expect us to make Top 10.
  12. I am glad Getz is insisting on him as the main piece. If he isn't included, then there's nothing to discuss with NYY.
  13. That's the whole point tho Jimmy.....the Burnes offer is garbage FOR US and Harold noted the offer they made us was pretty similar Even adding in some other lower piece doesn't meaningfully change it. If BAL thinks Hall can be a SP they wouldn't have included him and if they can't make him a SP then a vastly inferior development program also cannot make him a SP either. And relatively few people here are excited about Ortiz, so what are we getting then? No one wants him as a primary piece (secondary is fine) and no one wants a reliever as a primary piece either. And a Comp balance pick also is not an appropriate primary piece. If they had made an offer based on the 3 part structure we've talked about over and over again that would have fine but if not then forget it. I would have taken Kjerstad, Ortiz and Povich (and a lotto). It doesn't seem that was offered.
  14. The Burnes package was hot garbage. I dont care if he gets hurt. No means no. And even you agreed with us that a "fair" package would include one of the LH OFers instead of the draft pick.
  15. If DiPoto puts a fair offer on the table like Miller/Woo, Clase and Montes (49m SV), then I would expect Getz to take it and part with Cease (42m SV). If opposing GMs are still dicking around with garbage offers like what Elias reportedly offered (around 36m roughly), then Getz will hold him.
  16. No....not necessarily. Why would that be the case? Nightengale said I think even before the BAL-MIL trade that SEA was the team most likely to deal. And NYY is still out there as a possibility particularly if their pitching looks shaky in ST. There are still several other clubs in need as well and are likely to be in need after Montgomery and Snell sign. Its certainly possible it could go to the deadline but I doubt it with that much demand out there. I wouldn't be shocked if it went into ST tho because Boras is holding out for his FAs
  17. Crochet for Vivas. BTV has their SVs as very similar. Bring me Jorbit Vivas now! He checks alot of boxes for us.....LH 2B with above avg hit tool, good BB% and can stick at the position. Good platoon option for 2B.
  18. BTV has his SV at around 10m only...may make sense to wait and see if he has a good first half in 2024.
  19. Speaking of NYY.... We need to trade with NYY (regardless of Cease) and acquire Vivas to be strongside of the 2B platoon. He had a very strong year last year in AA as a 22 year old and got his feet wet in AAA. Walked more than he struck out. It shouldn't cost a ton and would be valuable to us. LH...projected 55 hit and gets OBP plus projected 50 glove at 2B. If Getz is trying to find bargains that fill needs cheaply, this is one. Maybe we can send them a reliever or two.
  20. The high BABIP is concerning, but if you look at his minor league stats from 2019-2023 on fangraphs he has put up a high and seemingly unsustainable BABIP every single year. I agree that theoretically it should normalize but 4 years in a row suggests that maybe (hopefully) he's one of those guys who has an uncanny ability to find holes. /trying to be find a way to be positive
  21. Yeah what's fair is fair....to get 2 Top 100s for 3 months of Giolito, Lynn and Kelly was a masterstroke by Hahn. That was huge. If Nastrini can stick in the rotation as like a 3 that would be massive.
  22. Hopefully Bannister can fix him and then we can move him at the deadline for a good return. They have alot of SP with issues and if he can fix even a few of them, we will reap a huge prospect benefit in trades. Bannister is prolly the most important person in this rebuild/retool.
