  1. After seeing this return for that RP, if all we get is Acuna and some scrub for Robert I am gonna be seething in white hot rage.
  2. Eisert will be worth more. f*** it, get Benge AND Clifford for Taylor.
  3. Does the local Chili's have 24 hammocks for Irish patrons to rest on when they they are waiting for their table?
  4. Dammit that would have been a good package to get. Someone almost certainly is offering a Top 100 bat+ for Taylor in this market.
  5. Why? People don't get real until there is a deadline. There's no need to do any deal until tomorrow unless it's really good.
  6. Need the pitching and CF market to start moving.
  7. Chili's has some decent menu items, therefore, I find this report credible. 😋
  8. Interesting. Hopefully Stearns gets real and offers both Clifford AND Gilbert. Dombrowski historically is willing to make a deal so maybe that will spur others into action. I agree with @Baron, I like the NYM system much better from a position player perspective.
  9. That would be AWESOME! I wonder if we are a fit for anything they want.
  10. I'm glad they made the irrational decision of being a buyer again. Maybe we can steal something from them like we did with Quero.
  11. There seems to be a ton of demand for controllable relievers. I wouldn't be shocked if we got a solid return for Eisert.
  12. I certainly would be fine with Dante Nori as the headliner, it's just that selfishly, the Sox are starting to become semi-fun to watch again and I think if they could get a solid CF option now, they could be closer to contending at least for a WC than many think. Anyway here is the savant scouting report on CF Dante Nori, 20 year old in Low A, who was PHI late 1st rounder last year. Current OPS is 735 in Low A so he has a ways to go at the plate but plus fielding, above avg Arm, almost double plus speed and eventually solid hit tool from LH seems great. He has alot of things Getz seems to like. If we could get Nori as the main piece and Rincones as the secondary piece that would be pretty solid. 2025 Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 45 | Run: 65 | Arm: 55 | Field: 60 | Overall: 50 Nori’s father, Micah, is a longtime NBA assistant coach and his grandfather, Fred, recruited Kyle Schwarber to Indiana back in the day, so he’s grown up around high-level sports and coaching. Despite having impressive all-around tools and very good baseball instincts, some teams weren’t in on the Michigander because he was old for a high schooler (almost 20 at Draft time). The Phillies weren’t afraid, taking him in the first round and signing him for below slot with a $2.5 million bonus. He made his pro debut with full-season Clearwater after signing. Nori entered pro ball with a reputation of having a very advanced approach from the left side of the plate and he’s done nothing to dampen that evaluation so far. The Phillies thought he could handle a push to the Florida State League and while it was a small sample, he had competitive at-bats right out of the chute and walked in better than 24 percent of his plate appearances. He has a quick swing geared toward contact and is a solid two-strike hitter; the next step will be for him to tap into his power. He has the ability to hit the ball harder than he has, registering 100 mph exit velocities off of flips in batting practice, and he can start showing he can impact the ball more without sacrificing his hit tool. With easily plus speed, a desire to run and those good instincts, Nori will be a basestealing threat at the next level. He also uses his wheels to cover a ton of ground in the outfield with excellent reads and routes, pointing to a long future in center field. He gets plus marks for his makeup, which should help him maximize his tools
  13. The thing with PHI is that they have some legit CF prospects besides Crawford but they are far away from the majors so we wouldn't be able to plug them in soon.
  14. That's not bad at all. Surprised we got a top 20. From pipeline: https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/yankees/ 18 Gage Ziehl RHP, Hudson Valley Renegades, A+ Yankees Top 30 BioStatsNewsVideo AGE 22 BATS R DOB 05/15/2003 THROWS R HT 6' 0" DRAFTED 2024, 4th (119) - NYY WT 223 ETA 2027 Scouting grades: Fastball: 50 | Slider: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 55 | Overall: 40 A Cubs 11th-round pick in 2021 as a New York high schooler, Ziehl put his pro career on hold to attend Miami. He led the Hurricanes in appearances as a freshman, then became their best starter during the next two seasons. The Yankees began the 2024 Draft by selecting college pitchers with each of their first seven picks and signed him for $637,000 as their fourth-rounder. Ziehl's ability to command his fastball stands out more than its velocity and life, as it operates at 92-94 mph and reaches 96 with modest ride and run. He misses more bats with a sweeping mid-80s slider that grades as a plus pitch with two-plane depth at its best. He imparts fade and sink on a mid-80s changeup but has difficulty keeping it in the zone. At 6 feet and 223 pounds, Ziehl is compact but strong and durable. He's a tough competitor who repeats his high three-quarters delivery with ease, enabling him to locate his fastball and slide with precision. The Yankees have a history of helping pitchers upgrade their stuff, and doing so with Ziehl would raise his current ceiling of a No. 4 starter.
  15. I am almost certain if we trade Robert to PHI, Rincones will be in the return.
  16. "In particular, Houser is a great example. His market is strong with a few teams indicating serious interest, league sources said. But as of Tuesday afternoon, people with knowledge of the situation said nothing was close." -From today's article in the Athletic about the glacial pace of trades so far but expecting things to really ramp up the last 2 days. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6524101/2025/07/29/mlb-trade-deadline-market-slow/ I'm glad there is a decent market for him. There's no way in hell you risk starting him today.
  17. Ewing is having a great year. The problem is we're gonna only get one of these guys so we will need to make a difficult choice. I can see why they want 2 guys.
  18. Traditionally, the CF position doesn't lend itself to much slugging anyway, outside of superstars at the position, but often CFs can offer value on the basepaths or with high OBP or maybe a good contact. Here, this guy can't hit for avg and can't get on base either. He also has only 12 SBs in 77 games. The offensive profile is a total black hole. Just pick Clifford or Gilbert instead if you only get one real piece. If it's Clifford, you can sign any glove only CF in FA on a cheap 1-2 year deal, rather than trading Robert for it and at least those options aren't theoretical CFs, they are real ones.
  19. There has to be something else meaningful in there besides him. There has to be. You are trading for something purely theoretical. He's played all of 1 game there per FG. CF involves more than just speed, there's reads and jumps. There simply isn't enough film there to assess the viability of it. He has to be the second piece.
  20. This is what I don't understand about Acuna.....if they want an immediate CF replacement for Robert, why take an IFer and hope and pray his good defensive tools translate to the OF when even if it does you have no bat at all there. Just go with Gilbert instead who has alot more experience at the position and is OK there with a much better bat. Unless NYM is willing to give up Acuna PLUS a Top 10 prospect (Clifford?) which I doubt.
