  1. Ugh....you're right. I went on baseball trade values and Lux was worth 15.5m. Kimbrel was -1 and 6m of cash is net of 5m. Still 10m short.
  2. We are all talking about Bellinger but since independent analysts seem to be confirming that there is good reason for those fluff pieces about Colas and since the Sox are still fixated on financial/budget issues why don't we just pivot to Lux. He should be more affordable than Bellinger. He also makes no money, has a ton of control, and could play 2B/RF (depending on where Vaughn is placed) and is LH and has no place to play in the loaded LAD lineup. Send them Kimbrel and 6-7m and maybe like a Dahlquist or something.
  3. Someone should mail him some kneepads. He could use it for how often he sucks ownership/FO off. I get that it's his job but it still pisses me off. And the smugness and attitude is disgusting.
  4. I agree.....at the very least they should have gotten a 1 yr LHH bridge player with power like Joc. It was only 6m. And that was the bare minimum to address the need but they still stepped on their own dick and couldn't even do that. Fucking pathetic
  5. Ofcourse, prolly early 2023 if he keeps developing once they secure the extra year.
  6. As to RF, Keith Law had some good things to say about Colas. He's been watching backfields games and said Colas is doing well in High A games with plus power and arm. Could be a fast riser. He also liked Ramos alot.
  7. 1 yr deal makes sense for both parties. Conforto isn't getting a 5/100 deal with a bunch of opt outs. Give him a year to rebuild his value in a HR friendly park for LHH and with alot of lineup protection. Gives us a bridge to give Colas a year in the minors that addresses our needs. Give him a million more than QO so they can save face and recoup some savings with Kimbrel trade.
  8. He will need to shed one of those bad OF contracts first. Also, if they are going the one year opt out route to rebuild value, I'm not sure Boras will want his client playing in that park.
  9. Yep it's officially over. This team is despicable and beyond stupid.
  10. They should focus on Lux if they are talking to LAD.
  11. It was reported that he was scratched due to general back soreness. Although I agree that it looks a bit suspicious. I'd like to think all our efforts to address our top positional need would result in something better than this but here we are. The other issue is it seems to be a two step trade, i.e it's not Kimbrel for the RF. Sounds like more of Kimbrel and maybe cash for something and then you turn around and use the something plus maybe something else for the RF.
  12. Yeah I'd rather have Joc as a bandaid than get roped into an aging RHH who will further limit our financial flexibility in 23 with his player option. I'd rather give Kimbrel away for free than get that in return. Hell no.
  13. Get the damn trades done already. We badly need something new to talk about. We also badly need a LH RF and another SP, but mainly we need something new to talk about.
  14. Thanks for the summary. Sounds like instead of Kimbrel for RF it's Kimbrel first to open up room for a 2nd trade for RF.
  15. No one seriously believes they will go into the season with no LH RFer addition or SP addition after backing themselves into a corner by publicly stating these were their top needs. Even if TLR won the battle for how the budget got spent (relievers), it is STILL not realistic to believe they are done. It might not be Conforto. It might not be an OAK pitcher. It could very well be a mediocre unsatisfactory short term addition but there will be an addition. We didn't offer 4/73-ish (Jimmy) and then magically decide there's no more room because a couple relievers got signed on even shorter term deals.
