  1. Exactly. He needs to catch and hit 5 times per week. People have quickly soured on Collins seeing what McCann has done for half a season. Pump the brakes a little : 1) Maybe McCann is not as great as his BABIP indicates 2) Collins is still our future full time catcher until we get confirmation McCann has signed a long term deal here.
  2. Dude, that's a #1 draft pick Catchers with a career +.800 OPS in the minors. I need a little bit of what you're smoking, at least would make this game a little more enjoyable.
  3. You can't take a guy from playing 4-5 times per week his entire young life to this now and expect him to look somewhat formidable. What league are you watching? Utility players and 4th OFs normally fall into that category after being failed starters. Collins hasn't even been allowed to be a failed starter here at this level.
  4. I can't give Collins a fair assessment when he gets ABs only once per week. By default he's a high K guy, not facing pitching frequently I'm pretty sure worsens the odds of making contact.
  5. I think there just aren't anymore bodies to take the ball every 5th day. Sadly. Nova and Lopez with their entire season of struggles so far wouldn't be pitching at the ML level on most teams.
  6. Climbing ratings and attendance.....way to pump the breaks on that very quickly, White Sox. With all the struggles of this pitching staff, Coop still having a job reminds of the cockroach in the Pixar Movie Wall-E.
  7. The Sox could easily make 4 moves today THAT MAKE SENSE and fly all 4 guys from Charlotte by the bulk Friday's SP for Alonso (DFA) Mendick for Rondon (DFA to make room on the 40) Palka for Cordell (straight 25 man move) Goins / Escobar for Ruiz/Viera (DFA to make room on the 40 - TA IL if it's Viera) Then you send Goins/Escobar back down when Covey is ready to rejoin the rotation.
  8. This move is for a guy outside the 40 man. So it's not Palka. It has to be a pitcher. Whoever is starting tomorrow.
  9. Who gives a fuck, he's released. Goodbye.
  10. It's funny how Shields right now wouldn't look all that bad with the vomit bag we have for 4/5 of the rotation.
  11. Interesting that it's Cease turn on the rotation, I believe.
  12. Oh yeah, there is no direct route from what I recall. You have to go thru W-S to get to Kannapolis. Charlotte, is like another 40-45 miles south from there. 2 years ago I made the 3 town stop and wasn't a big issue driving since they are line up North to South.
  13. Kannapolis is within the same 30-40 mile radius to Charlotte and W-S
  14. The lineup card is now posted, no roster move. The minute you saw the trainer and manager literally carry Anderson off the field, that phone should have been ringing down in Charlotte. Hahn = Fail
  15. 3 man bench is fine when you have anchors like Anderson every day. No that he's gone, you need to get depth. But they just refuse cut some of the dead weight. Alonso, Rondon, Cordell, Ruiz don't need to be here anymore. Anderson to the IL That's 5 roster spots on the 25 you can work with today, whatever mess you need to figure out from the 40 man I have no issue if Alonso, Ruiz, and Rondon were shown the door to the street.
  16. This is a great outcome after what appeared to be season ending and also jeopardizing 2020
  17. So they haven't announce a single roster move. It's an early game start, so they plan to play shorthanded again? Is Hahn not following the team, why is he so slow at pushing buttons? His roster management has been putrid.
  18. I don't think Tim Anderson is a very smart baseball player.
  19. I can make an argument Herrera is a worse acquisition at this point over Alonso.
  20. Throw the damn ball Tim! Fuck
  21. You know damn well Herrera is not stranding that runner.
  22. even if you're looking FB, you have to be able to fight off a breaking pitch right down the heart of the plate. Just fight it off.
  23. how do you take that pitch, wow.
