Neither side of the Mariotti/White Sox feud has any credibility at this point. Their opinions are tainted and they can't be objective about each other any more. It's best that they just ignore each other at this point.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 05:25 AM) Crawford to get the next start? If I had to guess, I'd say Lalime starts in Detroit and Crawford starts at home against Carolina. I think I'd give Crawford the nod against the Wings, but I'm thinking Savard would rather have a veteran start on the road and the kid plays at home. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 03:21 PM) OT, and Edmonton is deadly in the extra time. One point isn't good enough, gotta get something done here. Normally I'd say one point is better than none, but at this point the Hawks NEED the two points, and one would be a large disappointment. -

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Patrick Sharp 34 goals this year.... he was acquired for Matt Ellison (essentially a B-level prospect at the time) and a 3rd rd pick. Dale deserves some love for that move. No doubt. Hawks got the HUGE better end of that deal. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) Steve, oh Steve.... For Troy Murray to comment that "Lalime hasn't played his best game today", I'm thinking he's had to have looked pretty bad. -

The Pittsburgh/Washington game on NBC right now is off to an extremely physical start. There is a TON of hitting going on - mostly legal, lots of open-ice, bodies-flying kind of hits. Lots of fun to watch, no score yet. -
The Brewers have worn the Cerveceros jerseys before. I know they wore them last year, I'm not sure if they wore them before that. I like it, I think it's a cool thing. I wouldn't mind seeing a "Medias Blancas" jersey once in a while.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 01:54 AM) Lalime with two softies tonight, just for the record. SJ controlled the puck the majority of the game, we really couldn't get much of a cycle going for much of the game. As such, not many scoring chances. Thornton is a joy to watch, he's just impossible to get off the puck. SJ played like the team on a crazy winning streak, especially defensively. Collapsed time and space in the neutral zone and defensive zone and their d was pretty good getting the puck up on the breakout. They are a dangerous playoff team if they get everything they can get out of Nabokov. Best part of the actual game was Harvey Wittenberg doing the PA. That was some seriously sweet s*** right there. We weren't going to go undefeated the rest of the way. Was hoping to at least get a point tonight at home, but to no avail. Need a big game Sunday now before a rough 2 game stretch back to back. Boston trading Thornton away right after signing him to a 3-year deal still amazes me. There had to be "locker room issues" or something else, or maybe their expectations for him were unrealistic. I vaguely remember some rumblings from Bruins fans about him while he was there, but I bet they wouldn't mind having him back. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) During warm-ups right now, all the Hawk players are wearing either #21 or 9 in honor of Hull and Mikita. That's one helluva gesture. Another tip-of-the-cap to Rocky and McDonough. The jerseys will be auctioned for charity, which only makes it better. Watching those JR highlights made me quite nostalgic as well. I can't wait for Tony O's night. -

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 07:54 AM) Anyone hear that ridiculous Hawks song they are trying to use from Ministry?? God that sucks. Holy s***, that's bad. I wanted to like it because I like Ministry, but that's just brutal. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) The shamrock shake at MCDs actually makes the trip tolerable. My daughter is happy that the ShamShake is back. I always make sure to get one while they're "in season". I like the orange one that tastes like a Dreamsicle, too. (Can't remember what they call it)

Boy, oh, boy, Bill sure was right on the money about not showing home games on TV. No one would go to games if they could just watch them at home. It sure is harming the "season reservation holders". -

I still think the Hawks will fall just short of the playoffs this year, but this season has definitely still been a step or two in the right direction. On the ice and off, the interest and excitement is back for the Hawks, but there is still a lot of work to be done. 1-0 Hawks - BUFF parked in front of the net!! Get in front and good things happen!!! -

I don't know if I buy into Lalime being a long-term answer, but he's playing REALLY well and it's a good thing for the Hawks that he is. They'd be up a creek by now if not for Lalime. -
