Nice to see the road red uniforms on the Hawks tonight! The way it should be - let football wear dark colors at home! -

QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) So this section is like the 300 level sections at the Cell. I sat up there once and it was nice. Not alot of traffic up there, plus I got to shake Minnie Minnoso's hand Yeah, that's a fair comparison.....but I wouldn't hold out much hope of Minnie being at the Hawks game. -

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 12:55 AM) Samsonov in Carolina: 20 games 9+9=18 he's also a +10! for reference... he had 0+4=4 in 29 games for us to begin the season and a -7 rating. ugh. A classic case of the "change of scenery" helping a guy, eh? Too bad about Havlat - worse that Tallon couldn't peddle him off to someone before it happened. -

QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:31 AM) I don't have the best seats, I'm sitting in section 227, but my son and I are excited to just go. thanks for your help. Those aren't bad seats. I have section 303 for Sunday but my cousin might be coming through with a suite. Either this Sunday or the 16th from what he tells me. Since I already have tickets for this Sunday I'm hoping he gets the suite for the 16th. -

QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 11:23 AM) Thanks, Do you know what time they let in before the game? Per the UC website, doors generally open 90 minutes prior to the start of sporting events. -

I'm a bit concerned about the speculation/perception of Ladd losing interest when he's on the 4th line (I feel that's what happened to Ruutu to a substantial degree), but the other comments make me hopeful about him. If he is, in fact, turning the corner or "flipping a switch", that can be a very good thing for the Hawks. Just an aside - now that Lapointe is gone, who gets the 3rd "A"? I say it should go back on Toews and it should turn into a C in a year or two. -
QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) I'm also trying to get interviews from Tim from MLBTR and his crew, Ozzie Guillen, yes Ozzie Guillen, Joe Cowley and Scott Merkin. If and when I get responses I'll post them on here as well. Good luck trying to get THAT GUY to talk!

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) Yeah, Dave still has tons and tons of energy. Not sure how you do that night after night without some "performance enhancing" drugs. They did a pretty neat split-stage thing. There was the main stage located where most bands would set up at the Allstate. There was also this runway leading out into the middle of the floor with a large ring at the end of it. About half way into the show, a second stage, complete with drum kit, percussion section, pianos/ etc. lowered from the scoreboard into the ring. They all ran down there and played their acoustic stuff on this stage, which had a more 'intimate' feel than the main stage. That's a pretty cool gimmick. I'm not really a fan of their acoustic stuff, but that's a fun way to present it.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!!!! Man, the Avalanche are playing Back To The Future right now - when is Ray Bourque's phone going to ring? -
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) Just lock them in a room with Sheila and a bat. Come back in an hour or so. Make sure to tie those two subhumans up first, because they like that kind of thing.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) Lapointe to Ottawa waiting on the pick coming back 6TH ROUNDER FOR LAPOINTE...this is ridiculous...only a 6th??? Lapointe and Lang both pulled off the ice at practice...more to come Lapointe was a disappointment, a 6th rounder is unfortunately what his play merited. I hope Lang is part of a deal to acquire someone the Hawks actually need. -

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) I think Ladd will be easier to resign than Ruutu would have been...I think all in all thats why this deal was made. My problem is that I keep thinking of these deals in terms of on-ice results alone. I always overlook the contract/salary cap/free agency side of things. -

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 11:06 AM) Looks like Ruutu is going to Carolina for Ladd Ladd seems promising enough (young guy, big kid), but doesn't this trade seem to be at best a lateral move? The Hawks need defensemen more than forwards, and Ladd will probably have the same production as Ruutu playing on the 4th line. -

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) Carey Price.... he was a hero for the WJC team last year, he is going to be a stud someday. Someday soon, I'm guessing. Or they're guessing. What does this mean for Kolzig? Is his deal ending soon? And I just read that Huet is a UFA at season's end, so the deal makes a lot more sense to me now. They'd pay through the nose to keep him, so why not promote Price and get something for Huet. -

Who does Montreal have in goal that would make them deal Huet? -
I saw them when they toured behind The Colour and the Shape. They were very good, a lot of energy.

If Dale doesn't make some kind of significant deal after months of posturing, it'll be a pretty big disappointment. I'm kind of surprised Dallas is dealing away Mike Smith - I thought they were high on him as their future #1 goalie. I guess they're trying to go for it now. Can't blame 'em, I suppose. -

So Vince finally found out what it takes to get Dwayne to attend a WWE event. "Rocky, we'll induct your Dad and your Grampa into the Hall Of Fame, despite both of them being mid-carders - NOW will you show up, PLEEEEEASE????" -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) 12 beers and 4 or 5 shots did that to you? Yikes Yeah, but to be fair, he did say he was partying for 2 or 3 days.....unless that was a typo.

As if I needed any more reasons to pass on RassleMania: This year's WrestleMania 24 pay-per-view will cost fans $54.95, and that's for the standard definition broadcast. The High Definition broadcast will cost $69.95. For the past few years, the event has cost $49.95. -

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Who cares about the Cubs? haha I think they'll finish behind the Brewers this year, I have no ideal what the Cardinals are going to do. But I don't see the playoffs in their future, at least not through this crystal ball. I hate to say it, but the Cardinals look horrible this year. I'd guess 4th place for the Birds, as much as it pains me to think about it.
