  1. Blackhawks are playing hard today, but are clearly overmatched by the Wings thus far. 3-0 Detroit halfway through the 3rd period. Not the best way to end the season, but still, hats off to the Hawks for the advances they've made. 88 points is a nice building block for next year.
  2. For anyone wondering why bitter, useless, irrelevant Ole Anderson didn't take part in the Flair tribute: From Prowrestling.net Ole Anderson rejected an opportunity to take part in the Ric Flair tribute on Monday's Raw. "They were going to give me $1,500 to come down and tape me (for the Four Horseman video commentary) in my house," Anderson told Pat McNeill of PWTorch.com. Anderson said regarding the Four Horsemen video. "I just turned down a deal too. In fact, this weekend I was supposed to go to Orlando. They wanted me to go to Orlando and I wouldn't go." Later in the interview, Anderson put down Flair's in-ring ability. "He ended up having the same match every night..." Anderson said. "He had a lot of potential to begin with, but he's never had anything different than the same damn match every night... The point is he still doesn't have any idea how to have a match work. So they gave him credit for the last match here in Orlando. Wonderful. I hope it is. It'll be the same as it always was. Tell the match the other night was different than any other match he's ever had. He always does the same damn dumb things." Like Ole was The Man Of 1,000 Holds or something.....get over yourself, Ole.
  3. I'd have to say that I come here more for the non-Sox forums lately than the Sox-related forums. When I go to PHT, it's usually to see how people are reacting to the latest game, or Sox news like callups or lineup changes. I love this place, and I'm not ashamed to say it!!!!
  4. QUOTE(max power @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) Alou would have caught the ball. He is just being nice. I think he absolutely would have caught that ball. And his "apology" comes waaaaaaaaaaaay too late. If he hadn't thrown his glove down like a child, if he'd realized that sometimes fans reach out for foul balls, and if he'd been a professional and just gone back to his position and waited for the next pitch, who knows what would have happened?
  5. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) This will jog all your faint memories. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/history/broadcasters.jsp Lou Brock and JC Martin were bad. REALLY bad. Joe Carter bad.
  6. Born in '63 so not quite old enough, but I remember Harry doing Falstaff commercials (and seemingly drinking half the brewery). I remember the Hamm's commercials more during Cubs games. (My Dad hated the Sox, so we watched more Cubs games when I was a kid. He called Comiskey Park "that boneyard", as in "I'll never take you to that boneyard!" lol)
  7. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) What do you think? I think I need an eye lift... HAWT!!!! WOULD!!!!
  8. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) Here's Flaxx, Warhol-style How's the rest of Oasis?
  9. I look like death warmed over, allowed to cool and warmed over again, and then sent to hell in a handbasket. ...on a good day...
  10. Hopefully the Hawks play out the weekend hard, win both games and get to 90 points on the season. It's a small consolation prize, but I think it would be a nice one. I have to say, I'm going to remember this season VERY fondly. The arrvial of Toews and Kane, the surprising goal-scoring of Sharp, the steadiness of Sopel, the emergence as a solid blueliner of Hendry, the raucous home crowds, the "bringing home" of past Hawks greats, the beginning of the Rocky Era, and the general excitement around this team after so many years of lethargy was really fun to experience. It's nice to have some realistic hope for the Hawks again, and it's REALLY nice to want to go out to the UC because of the home team again! Even though John McDonough has no idea what it means, I just gotta say one more time...... RED RISING!!!
  11. Kelly just mentioned that the average attendance for the 10 televised games is over 19,000. One last time, super thinking by $Bill. He sure had it pegged.
  12. Hawks chase Hasek after 8 minutes. 3-0 Blackhawks. Keep it up, boys! Go down fighting if the playoffs aren't meant to be!
  13. 8 crosschecks to the back of Kane by Chelios. Typical pussy move by a lifelong coward. Chelios is a monster when he's hitting smaller players from behind, but put a guy his size in front of him and that gutless vagina s***s his pants. Piece of s***.
  14. I hope they get the lighting or whatever fixed by next year. Tonight's broadcast looks very dark and murky.
  15. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:30 AM) I don't approve of the what the teacher did, but I do find it funny. Religous group's have been trying to censor everything from music to tv to book's and everything else for the last 30 years. Now when it happen's to them "Oh my god". Maybe next time they won't be so quick to try and stop an album from coming out or a movie from being edited. Yep. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  16. I'm glad I went to sleep. Once Legace left the game, the Blues looked like a different, and much s***tier, team. Thanks for nothing once again, St. Louis.
  17. I'm obviously glad to have all the games on TV, but I still hate $Bill for making me feel like a yokel for getting so excited about a team finally entering the modern age. "HOOOOOOORAY, WE GET TO SEE ALL THE GAMES!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!" while the rest of the civilized world yawns and says ".....wow.....look at that.....televised sporting events....congratulations, you're a BIG CITY now......we're soooo happy for you...."
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 01:15 AM) http://blackhawks.nhl.com/team/app/?servic...rticleid=358719 All 82 games on TV next year, likely 20 on WGN. Looks like attendance will plummet. We use GREEN here, sir....
  19. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) Farmer says you cannot try to grab him with your hands like he tried Farmer is an ex-pitcher and an idiot. And I don't care if he's right about that or not, my opinion of him stands. And he's boring.
  20. QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Yeah really, they're b****ing about something that people who aren't watching the game have no clue about. Joe Crede was called out on a high throw and a non-tag by the catcher. On the next play, Cabrera was called for interference on a slide where his foot touched 2nd base, which by definition is NOT interference.
  21. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) UGH Crede stopped to go back to tag It's the right move with no one out. If Michaels makes the catch his momentum is leading him away from the throw, and Joe gets into 3rd with 1 out. If the Sox can't score him from 3rd with no outs, that's not on Joe.
