  1. QUOTE (Shadows @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 12:19 PM) Dude MVP is awesome.. "Like tropicana, I got the juice" Next time you turn the corner do his entrance dance I have really changed my mind on MVP. When he first arrived in WWE, I thought he was crap. He has turned out to be very entertaining. I was going to say I'd "turned the corner" on him, but I don't want to have to do that entrance dance.
  2. QUOTE (juddling @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) i'll try to find the article but Hayes was also reoprted using the 'N-word' around and referring to Mark Henry. it takes wither big nuts or lack of brains to say that to "The World's Strongest Man!!" I saw this on Wrestlezone.com......... Here is the TMZ.com story: There's no doubt that using the n-word is stupid -- but allegedly using the n-word in front of a guy that's over six-feet-tall, weighs nearly 400 pounds and calls himself "The World's Strongest Man" is beyond idiotic. Enter WWE writer Michael Hayes. TMZ has confirmed that Hayes, the head writer for WWE's "Smackdown," has been suspended for 60 days -- allegedly for using racist language in front of wrestler Mark Henry. Michael's haymaker was supposedly thrown while out drinking at a party during the weekend of Wrestlemania, where reports say Hayes told Henry, "I'm more of a n----- than you are." A rep for the WWE released this statement: "Due to inappropriate behavior, Michael Hayes was suspended for 60 days with no pay. In order to return to work, Michael Hayes will be required to undergo further evaluation." hayes--------> Good Lord, what an idiot. Although, I have to say, I bet this kind of talk goes on more than we'd ever know between wrestlers. You read all these wrestlers' bios and you hear story after story of horrible behavior and language in the name of "ribbing". If Hayes and Henry were friends, Michael could have said the exact same thing and this story might never have reached the press. After reading this, I'm surprised Hayes was suspended for 60 days and not hospitalized for 60 days.
  3. -- According to an article on Merinews.com, The Great Khali has plans to open up a wrestling school for children in Mumbai, India. First lesson: Grow REAAAAAAALLLLY tall. Second lesson: See First Lesson. Graduate.
  4. Here's the video of the return of the Ultimate Warrior. It's pretty sad. Look how loose the NWE ring ropes are. They need better wrenches, or a stronger ring crew.
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 12:04 AM) Jeremyyyyyyyyyyyy Roenick 2 goals and 2 assists in a Game Seven win. That's so nice to see! JR's the guy I've missed the most from that early 90's Hawk team.
  6. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) I don't think the writing staff is subject to testing The rumor I had heard was that a good friend of his and most of ours, Jack Daniels was involved. That some comments we're made in that shouldn't have been, basically just PS being PS. Trust me, I did NOT think Michael Hayes was on steroids.... I was thinking painkillers or cola, and definitely an alcohol problem. Oh, and Jack's no friend of mine. I had a VERY nasty dispute with him and his friend Beam when I was in my late 20's and I've never forgiven them.
  7. No details yet, but it's being reported online that Michael Hayes (head writer for Smackdown) has been suspended by WWE for 60 days. 60 days = 2nd violation of the Wellness Policy, so that's my guess.
  8. When he was promoted to the majors four years later, he called home and was greeted by his mother, Josefina, who immediately asked, "Why wasn't Jolbert called up instead of you?" Nice. Mother Of The Year candidate right there.
  9. Bruins got dumped by Montreal 5-0. Season over for the Bruins. They made a series of it, but ultimately didn't have enough.
  10. I will absolutely buy this book!! source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter -- Jim Cornette is writing a book documenting the Midnight Express. The book will feature tons of inside information on the last days of Jim Crockett Promotions before it was bought out by Ted Turner, the first years of WCW, attendance figures for 60% of the shows the Midnight Express were on in the late 80s, newspaper clippings, original booking plans, and more. The book will be released later this year.

  12. Okay, here goes: ....As it has been brought down from the highest mountains over the span of many years, my Warriors can understand that which leaves mere mortals perplexed. The question has been raised, and it is a legitimate question: Why, you ask, have I returned after so long? Time is an abstract, and in the greater scheme I have been around for longer than you could comprehend. The Ultimate Warrior has known many forms and permutations, and will know many more before the final day arrives. Worry not about your role in this saga, Orlando Jordan, for your fate has already been written unbeknownst to you. I have returned to lead my Warriors through the darkness and not you, Orlando Jordan, nor any other human can alter that. My Warriors are my lifeblood, my oxygen, my sustenance, and I am theirs. Alone we are weak, together we are an unstoppable force, and this force will go right through you, Orlando Jordan, and you are powerless in its presence. And when the tale has been told, when all victories have been recorded for future generations to ponder and debate, know this: the One Warrior Nation will reign supreme, and the chosen survivors will walk into the light alongside the ULTIMATE WARRRRRIIIIIIUUUHHHHHHRRRRRRR!!!!!!! [sNORT]
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) With College/Work/Baseball all taking up my time, I haven't watched much playoff hockey. I did however sit down and watch most of that game last night, and it was fantastic. I want it here so badly. That's the frustrating part for me - I just KNOW a Hawks/Wings playoff series would look a lot like the Boston/Montreal series. We can only hope that the Hawks get the pieces they need, and stay somewhat healthier than they did this year. If they do, we'll finally see some playoff hockey at the UC again. Meanwhile, I'll be sure to be in front of the tube for Monday's Game Seven in Montreal - it's going to be insane.
  14. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 10:07 AM) I have seen some of the shots they have taken at each other in the last couple of years, but I havent seen Jay refer to him as a failing tribune columnist before. Well, Morrissey upped the ante by pointing out exactly how many times Mariotti blamed Bartman for the Cubs' 2003 collapse after Jay wrote an article saying people should stop blaming Bartman for the Cubs' 2003 collapse. Jay couldn't handle his hypocrisy being pointed out, so his venom has increased. Not an atypical response from Jay. Pretty standard stuff.
  15. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 11:18 AM) Wow, Mariotti taking some more shots at Morissey Jay can't stand when anyone points out the s*** he pulls, so he does that passive/aggressive thing as a defense mechanism.
  16. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 08:54 AM) B- You failed to mention the blue sky, rivers of blood, one warrior nation, and the Sun That was the Cliffs Notes version. There are over 14,000 bullet points I could have referenced, but there's not enough bandwidth to contain the Warrior's lunacy.
  17. QUOTE (Shadows @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) I thought the Ultimate Warrior died because his armbands were tied too tight and it cut off the circulation to his heart!!! A TRUUUUE WAAAAARRIORRRRRR NEVER DIIIIIIIIIESSSSsssss!!!!! [snort]
  18. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 01:09 AM) Sounds as if Carey Price is starting to struggle a bit. Maybe just a bit too much pressure for him as a 20 year old goalie in the playoffs? Price actually played very well. The goals he gave up were either bang-bang passes or deflections for the most part. On the game-winner, Marco Sturm got his own rebound and floated through the crease while Price tried to regain position, and banged it in after Price had to flop. It was a thing of beauty. The Bruins were swarming for most of the game and they made their own chances. Both teams were skating and hitting like crazy. It was a terrific game to watch, the best playoff game I've seen this year for sure.
  19. Oh, brother.... http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008/articles/1208652315.php Former WWE Champion Ultimate Warrior will be wrestling in his first match in nearly ten years when he takes on Orlando Jordan on Wednesday, June 25 in Barcelona, Spain. There's a press release at the link, Warrior against Orlando Jordan??? What a match THAT's going to be.....
  20. The Bruins/Canadiens game tonight has been a lot of fun to watch. End to end action, tons of hitting, great goaltending on both sides. Late in the 2nd period, Montreal leads 2-1. Bruins come back to win 5-4 in a crazy third period - an absolutely fantastic game! Boston forces Game 7 in Montreal on Monday night. GO BROONZ!!!
  21. Hawk sounds like he's going to either uncork a nerd rant or shut up completely in a minute.
  22. You run the f***er back to first. If he outruns you back to first, at least he's still on first. Disgusting.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) Cubs might go 18-0 vs the Pirates this year. The Pirates have some good players, but they are not a good team.
  24. Derrek Lee definitely has his power stroke back. Seems like he hits one out every day lately.
