  1. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) Don't come back home... Ahhh, no one will be there when they get home anyway.....
  2. A sad and bizarre end to a sad and bizarre life.
  3. Nice 34-save road shutout for Lalime in his Hawks debut. 3-1 so far on the road trip, not bad at all.
  4. So I'm trying to watch Wrestling Society ADD again today, and it's not really growing on me. The main announcer and the ring announcer both sound like Don West and Joey Styles' less talented children. (Which is NOT to imply that Don West has any talent, though) I know it's supposed to be cartoonish, but so far I'm not finding much to like.
  5. I think The Easily Outraged were so disappointed that Prince didn't actually whip out his junk that they had to find some way to think LONG AND HARD about his junk, to draw attention to his junk, and to discuss his junk with anyone who'd listen, and the guitar silhouette was an easy enough way to do that. If they really think that THE CHIIIIIILLLLLLDRENNNNN (because it's always about the chiiiiillllldrennnn, and never about their own repression or demented fantasies) would see Prince perform and believe that he has a dick the size of a guitar, then they have seriously failed at sex education....and you just KNOW they teach that themselves at home, because they certainly don't want it taught in schools. It's much to-do about nothing, just another retarded scare tactic to frazzle the mindless followers and a reason to threaten to boycott someone or something.
  6. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 7, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) His enforcer was Jesus aka Aaron Aguilera - he's in WSX. LCR, the "fans" at the WSX taping, except for the first episode, were paid extras, not wrestling fans. I was at one of the tapings for this season, as well as the pilot. Most of them had no idea what to expect and when they found out I was a fan, they asked stupid questions like "Are we going to seeing fake fighting and all that?" So not only, did they not know moves or to back up when a performer's about to dive through the ropes, they didn't know who was heel or who was a face. I left, I was so mad. So THAT's where they're sending the dopey kids after TRL finishes taping for the day....
  7. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) Yoko Ono + Peaches = Love. I thought I heard someone blasting the new Yoko Ono disc through a car stereo last night, but it turns out my neighbor just needs new brakes really badly.
  8. I just read that Ozzfest tickets will be free this year. This news sparked three thoughts in my head: 1 ) Since you'll have to go to ozzfest.com or livenation.com to access tickets, I wonder just how "free" the tickets will end up being. 2 ) Even at no charge, Ozzfest tickets will still not be worth the price. That tour features some of the s***tiest bands on the planet every year, without fail. 3 ) There is NO WAY ON EARTH that I would want to be in the middle of an Ozzfest crowd that got in for free. That's 40 bucks more per head to spend on beer to drink in the summer heat. Imagine the stench, fights and vomiting that will lead to....
  9. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) New Yoko Ono album out today! New Yoko Ono album out today! New Yoko Ono album out today! New Yoko Ono album out today! New Yoko Ono album out today! MY EARS! MY EARS!! MY EARS!!! MY EARS!!!! MY EARS!!!!!
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) RATM is the only band who did the whole rap/rock thing right. They had something to say and Tom Morello did some really creative things with his guitar. I totally get why their fans like them, they just never hooked me at all.
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) The Police? Hello, tap, tap, is this thing on? Coachella headliners: Friday, Bjork Saturday, Silly Peppers Sunday, Rage Against The Machine. I don't really want to spend 3 full days there, nor do I want to shell out that kind of cash for a weekend pass. I really want to see Rage, so I figured I'd just buy a ticket for Sunday. Get this, you can purchase a ticket for just Friday, or a ticket for just Saturday, but you CANNOT purchase a Sunday ticket by itself, if you wnat to go on Sunday, you MUST buy the 3 day pass. Seems to me that the promoters realize that Bjork and the Peppers will be a weak draw and that everyone wants to see Rage. Great marketing, but it sux for some fans. That does suck - sorry to hear that for you, but I have no interest in seeing any of those three headliners anyway. Never liked RATM at all.
  12. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) VARIOUS SOURCES REPORT THE CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS HAVE TRADED FORWARD BRANDON BOCHENSKI TO THE BOSTON BRUINS FOR RIGHT WING KRIS VERSTEEG AND A CONDITIONAL PICK. ...and the annual shuffling of "middle cards" begins...
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) The 'Hawks losing in '92 was the last time since '59 that a Chicago team lost in the title game, IIRC. And to make it all that much better, the Hawks blew a 4-1 lead in game 1 of the Finals to get that ball rolling downhill. I'll never forget Jagr's tying goal - he went around 3 Hawks from the side boards to the slot and backhanded one past Belfour. Unreal.
  14. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 07:26 AM) So, after seeing the commercials last night, it appears that The Police getting back together is almost as big an event as the Super-Bowl. I was kind of amazed at how many commercials there were. I'm looking forward to the Police reunion, and I'd absolutely go if they come to Chicago. Now the Van Halen debacle......I'll pass on that one for sure. Oh, and my favorite Material Issue songs were "Valerie Loves Me" as done by Land Of The El Caminos, and "Diane" as done by Muchacha on the "Just What This World Needs" tribute disc.
  15. [sung to the tune of the Super Bowl Shuffle] I'm INT Rex, that's my name In any situation the result is the same When the pressure's on and I think in a hurry I throw it to a player in the other team's jersey Now I'm not here to make you happy I'm here to blow the game because I'm so damn crappy

I saw Smokin' Aces on Friday night, and I was entertained. It's not a great movie, I won't look for the DVD, but it was an interesting enough movie for a date night.
  17. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) True - it's not for everyone. but at least it's an alternative to the WWE/TNA "Sports Entertainment" we're used to. Interesting to see if it gets better or worse as the season goes on. It is a good thing to have another product to choose from, but the production style's just not for me. I've always been more into the promos and buildups to a feud, and there's not enough time to do that in a half-hour. They only have time for the "crash-and-burn" style, so that's what they'll present. I don't blame them, it's just not something I care to watch regularly.
  18. QUOTE(T R U @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) WSX was very entertaining I liked it, I am gonna try and watch it every time it comes on now.. I was very impressed. Is its usual time Tuesdays at 930? I couldn't get through the half-hour. The sound, pace and "feel" of the show bothered me. No pace, no logic to anything, just spots and yelling, spots and yelling, more spots and more yelling. HEY!LOOKOVERHERE! I'MSCREAMINGCUZIT'SEXCITING!!! NO!LOOKOVERHERE! I'MSCREAMINGEVENLOUDERCUZIT'SEXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME!!!!!!! WAIT!LOOKOVERHEREAGAIN!!! THINGSAREBLOWINGUPOVERHERE!! BUTTHINGSAREONFIREOVERHERE!!! THINGSBLEWUPTHENCAUGHTONFIREANDNOWTHEY'REMAKINGOTHERTHINGSBLOWUPOVERHERE!!! .....ugh.....
  19. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 07:28 AM) c'mon...what's not to love about a bar that charges like $5 for a freaking can of Miller Lite. And bullied Sox fans during the 2005 playoffs while letting Woo-Woo wobble around in his bear pajamas.
  20. No one in my house has seen any of the Harry Potter movies or read any of the books, and I think that streak is safe. My daughter actually enjoys reading the Spiderman comic reprints that come free in the Sunday Sun-Times - now she wants me to buy her more Spiderman comics! I think that's very cool!
  21. News item from lordsofpain.net: Dusty Rhodes has been brought in to help out with the creative end of ECW. Ugh. "Lemme tell ya, baybay, whut EE THEE DUBYA needth ith mawr falth finnithes, if ya weeeel, daddayyyy! Sunuvaplumma!"
  22. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) Pros? Cons? Uh-oh, I smell a Sonic Ruin mousepad on the horizon!!!!
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) Apparently she got a hold of a few tickets, and is now offering the chance for someone to accompany her to Miami. Yeah, some scalper hooked her up with free tickets. I wonder if (and where) she'd have to advertise his company's logo?
  24. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) Saw Wrestling Society X's first show. So, that's what a show with ADD looks like. Holy crap. Talk about the no-sell spotfests. I did love how Teddy Hart no-sold so much in that match. I haven't seen it yet, and still I know I didn't miss a thing.
