QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) Sunny, in her prime, was good at both promos and looks. Seems like AAE's role has diminished with Umaga which is also unfortunate. Sunny is an exception to the rule, and may have actually been the reason we have so many useless females at ringside now. AAE should have an entire stable by now. Vince is dropping the ball again.

Well, another tough loss. The Hawks played well, but unfortunately came up short again.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) Works for me Hawks on csn at home vs the Canucks, starting up right now. They look like they have a little jump in their step early on. Luongo's made a couple nice stops already.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) I wish they would paint over the WS stuff in the dugout. It's all over the park enough. I just saw Ozzie on that Comcast sports show with Jiggets, and he said he "wants them to paint over that s***". He wants the team to be hungry and not think about 2005 anymore, and I agree.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) He sucks with the mic, its pretty much his whole problem. He cannot create a gimmick to draw the fans, and the fans always want someone who can talk to them. I have yet to see a promo from him that he didnt fumble and sound lost. This is the main reason I dislike the fact that HAWT CHIX have replaced managers. A HAWT CHIK is fine, dandy and splendid, but a good manager can add a lot to a wrestler who either can't speak well or is un comfortable on the mic. Best example I can think of right now is Abyss. Without James Mitchell's promos (which are often VERY good), Abyss is just KaneKind, and no one cares. I don't know if many people care even with Mitchell, but I'm always tuned in when Mitchell speaks.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 05:29 AM) Well, I'm not sure how anyone could think Cornell was "the worst part of Soundgarden"...The man can flat out sing He sounds great on CD, but I haven't heard many good live recordings of him. The appearance Soundgarden did on Saturday Night Live was unlistenable. It was about as painful as listening to Robert Plant attempt his Led Zep high notes now. Ouch.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) TSN.CA REPORTS THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS HAVE TRADED FORWARD PETER FORSBERG TO THE NASHVILLE PREDATORS IN EXCHANGE FOR FORWARD SCOTTIE UPSHALL, PROSPECT RYAN PARENT, A FIRST AND THIRD ROUND PICK Interesting. The "experts" had him going to Detroit. The Wings must not have had (or offered) the right package of players and picks.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) Everything in the park has supposedly changed back to numbers... so if that is correct you are in row 1 Thanks, Steff! I hope you're right!!!
-
Question: do the rows in section 152 begin with numbered rows or lettered rows? I got section 152, row 1 for a 1/2 price Monday, so I'm wondering if I'm in the first row or the 4th or 5th. Thanks!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 07:03 AM) Here is your challenge, should you actually choose to accept it. Find me ONE year where the White Sox organization made profits, and the team did not see a corresponding increase in payroll for the next season. Yes, I am calling you to the mat. Put up or shut up. I want proof. 1919. The Sox went to the World Series and then got rid of like EIGHT of their high-priced players soon after that. I win.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Yeah, I just listened to it as I was playing PS2. The guy who loaded it is a Mother Canucker! Yeah, he also loses his sing-along privileges.

QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) what about Grant park? That would work. Then I could sit somewhere nearby and hear the whole thing for free. Of course, I could do that across the street from Chewing Gum Park, too.

My daughter's been to wakes since she was 4 and she's always handled it well. She doesn't get creeped out, and she's no sadder than anyone else there. I agree with the others, though - it's your call on what you think your child can handle. No one else's, so don't be swayed either way once you decide.

A very good promo, but the out of sync video/audio was distracting. Heel Rock was so much more entertaining than Face Rocky.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) Word in the wind is that in Chicago they will be playing someplace where football is normally played. Beats the bloody hell out of them playing where National League baseball is normally played. Newer facility, giant video screen, modern sound system, no falling concrete......I really hope it's at Soldier Field, if it can't be held at a music shed or USCF.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 11:33 AM) Southern Canada, maybe?

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Watching the Wings give up 5 goals to the Flyers (by far the worst team in the NHL) in the third period to lose 6-1 is enjoyable. Seeing Detroit give up 6 goals is as rare as the Hawks winning a game with Havlat out of the lineup.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) OMD "If You Leave" from Pretty In Pink is my favorite Southern Rock song ever!!!

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 09:53 PM) Wow, a lot of you really dislike the Red Hot Chili Peppers? I'm a huge fan. Always have been. Their cover of Higher Ground is the only thing I ever liked by them, and that got overplayed. I do enjoy how HARD they RAWK in their videos - much harder than the actual song calls for. Hilarious.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) The problem with the Grammys is that it is literally impossible for them to truely judge all the music released in the year and truely find the best, so instead they go buy Billboard charts and decide from there. It would be the same way if the only movies nominated for Oscars were the top box office draws, and then they chose from those. Eh, isn't that just more of a "Police thing". I could swear they always did that. No, I saw Sting in concert with his own band and he pissed me off by Stinging almost every song. It's definitely his thing. There are others who do that, but Sting is the king of poorly covering his own songs.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sHXCs84iJc Police last night. Pretty good, except for Sting not hitting the notes on the chorus and that goofy re-working in the middle of the song. My wife and I call that "Stinging" a song. When someone changes their own song until it's not even the same song any more. that's Stinging it.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) HELP. Alright, this is driving me nuts. I can't find the video from last night, nor can I find the press conference where they announced the tour dates. I'll hop on a plane and pay top bucks to hear them again. They haven't had the presser yet. I saw a post on Metal Sludge about just the Vancouver show. The info will get out today. I can't find any video either, which is weird. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) C'mon, Silly Peppers won like 12 awards last night, I just noticed this last night, does Anthony Keidus have a lisp or some kind of speech impediment?? Kiedis has a lisp. and his band has a bad case of suckitis. Did they win the Grammy for Hardest Inappropriate Rocking During A Weak Ballad? They should get a lifetime award for that.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) NO, just kill your wife. Hmmmm......a guy named Tony suggesting I whack the wife.....what would your LAST name be, HMMMM??? I'll just check the Ticket Exchange for a set of 3 for a Saturday or two along the way. I'm sure someone will need to sell some lowers for a Saturday sometime. I hope so, anyway.
-
QUOTE(MinnesotaSoxFan @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) coughDevilRayscough I've heard bad things already about lowers for that game. That was one of the few I was interested in. We'll see. If there's nothing, there's nothing.
